Dior Serves Shanghai A Dose Of Parisian-Chic

Shanghai hosted the 2011 Christian Dior cruise collection show this past week and the scene was pure high fashion. This being Dior’s first showing in Shanghai, head designer, John Galliano brought forth a strong French influence to showcase the brand to the Chinese market.
The collection started out with classic suit and professional looks that presented touches of youthful playfulness. Fashions progressed to flirty and glamorous gowns mostly in purple, pink, and pastel hues accented with ruffles, lace, and feminine textures.

Gallino talked to WWD about the show, “I didn’t want to come here and present a Chinese-inspired collection to my Chinese friends. I’m the ambassador of the house of Dior, and I wanted to come here with a French-inspired collection and to show the savoir faire of France.”
This haute Mission was accomplished — c’est magnifique!
