A Crocodillian Collaboration
We covet Catherine Malandrino for her use of bold colors and international influence, so what happens when this French designer bats tails with luxury French sportswear line, Lacoste? A: a crocodillian-sized collaboration! The designer will be creating a Malandrino + Lacoste capsule collection that will run for four seasons. While designer collabs, may be common among other brands (cough, H&M), this is the first ever for Lacoste.
As reported by WWD, “The first step [for Malandrino] was to create a logo to make the label more inviting to women. Malandrino and Lacoste decided on two kissing crocodiles, one green and one yellow, for the Lacoste + Malandrino line. Far more womanly than the brand’s typical sportif look, Malandrino’s take includes styles such as a draped day dress with three-quarter-length sleeves, a hooded cocoon cardigan and a pleated bustier dress.”
By the looks of her sketch above, we can’t wait to rock the new sporty, feminine attire. The clothes will be sold in Lacoste store internationally, as well as, Malandrino’s boutique shops with price points from $125-$495. We also hear bags and shoes will make it into the merchandise mix! Hooray!
