We’re halfway through the work week and only one whole day remains until the start of New York Fashion Week, but the office here is already buzzing with excitement as we just rolled out some new user-friendly features. To celebrate this we have partnered up with April Oh, designer of Aryk K to give away a beautiful piece from her most recent collection. We got the chance to ask April about her line and inspirations and here’s what she said:

1.Since you design so many fantastic pieces, what are your favorites from the latest collection?
My favorite piece from Holiday 2010 is this pewter & rust dress. I think it is a classic cut and comfortable-perfect for a relaxing dinner party during the holidays.

2. What is one fall trend you are looking forward to this season?
I am really looking forward to the return of a more 70s silhouette, long & lean which looks great on a variety of body types. I also love layered looks for fall, a great jacket with little hints of the rest of the outfit peeking out.

3. A lot on celebs are frequently spotted in Aryn K, but who would be your dream to style?
I would be so excited to dress Milla Jovovich, she one of my fashion icons and made a seamless transition from model to actress.

4. What are some of your favorite places to shop and/or travel?
Japan is a great shopping destination, particularly Tokyo with its mix of old world culture and cutting edge innovation with technology & fashion.

5. Lastly, what advice do you have for any aspiring fashion industry hopefuls?
Patience, be humble and take criticism well. There’s always room for improvement and you’re going to be learning something new.
