British Fashion Council Honors 12 It-Brits

Dec 9, 2010 By Vaneza

If there was one place we would have loved to have been at this past Tuesday evening, it would be the lavish Savoy Hotel where the British Fashion Council awarded some of the most talented fashion professionals to date. A big kudos to the winners listed below direct from the British Fashion Council’s official site.

Emerging Talent Award for Accessories: Husam El Odeh
Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear: Meadham Kirchhoff
Designer Brand: Mulberry
Model: Lara Stone
Accessory Designer: Nicholas Kirkwood
Menswear Designer: Patrick Grant for E. Tautz
BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design: Lee Alexander McQueen
British Style: Alexa Chung
Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator: Nicola Formichetti
Designer of the Year: Phoebe Philo for Celine
Special Recognition Award: Naomi Campbell
Digital Innovation Award: Burberry

We couldn’t agree more with the winners! Especially Burberry for their digital innovation…remember when we told you about the livecast of their Spring 2011 show!? Awesome! In addition, a posthumous Outstanding Achievement Award was given to Alexander McQueen (who already had four under his belt!) by the British Prime Ministers wife Samantha Cameron. According to Elle.com, “a video montage of McQueens most memorable pieces, directed with haunting intensity by fashion film nobility Nick Knight was overlayed with a soundtrack by Bjork.” Peep the video below for the beauty of it all!

Once again, Congratulations to all the winners! And as always, you can peep all their lovely work on MyFDB!
