2011 Fashion Already?! Glamour Picks Out Up-Coming Trends
The new year has barely just begun and everyone is already buzzing about the future fashions of 2011. Glamour magazine’s latest issue has an editorial that outlines the key eight key fashion pieces for 2011. Interestingly, some of the pieces they claim are essential for 2011 were also essential for 2010; how ironic! Below are their picks!
1. The over-sized sweater.
2. The pleated skirt.
3. A fringed-out bag.
4. Track pants (yep, I winced too).
5. Garments with Volume, volume, volume.
6. Color-blocked clothes.
7. The classic white shirt.
8. Wide legged jeans.
See what I mean? I swear the over-sized sweater and the fringe handbag were 2010 must-haves. I also think tthe classic white shirt has ALWAYS been a wardrobe essential; what fashionista doesn’t own at least one white button-up? And track pants? I definitely won’t be hopping on to that trend. I will only wear those babies to the gym, and the gym only. As for all of the rest of the 2011 trends, I can definitely handle them. Except, I have to call out Glamour once again and say that I’m not so sure the trends they’ve claimed for 2011 have ever gone away. If I remember correctly, The Row had a pleated skirt in their Pre-Fall 2010 collection, and the documentary, The September Issue featured the color blocking trend of 2007. Maybe I’m being a little nit-picky? Or maybe I’m just looking for some new fashion inspiration?MyFDB. Photographer, Gregory Harris did a great job with each shot!
