A Neon Orgasm With Jeremy Scott
After yesterday’s foreplay with Hervé Léger, today’s morning after with Jeremy Scott was literally a fashion orgasm. From sexual moans over the speakers mid-show to fur, sequins and sheer pieces coming down the runway, everyone in attendance was aroused by the action.
Scott brought out an uber-stylish crowd with celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens (wearing a black dress accented with crosses), Keri Hilson and Kanye West front row. Hudgens arrived early and waited, like the rest of us, for the show to start. However, in true Kanye fashion, he and Hilson arrived literally before the show was about to begin with security working double time to ward off swarming photogs. A few seats over from the duo was blogger BryanBoy, who was accompanied by a cameraman (he’s currently live-streaming his NYFW antics).
Designer Jeremy Scott is known for his quirky take on pop culture (anyone remember his ode to the Flintstones?), and presented a collection which embraced Superman, milk, and Coca-Cola motifs, refashioned Scott style. Other fur-ocious pieces to hit the runway included neon pink angora dresses, fur platform heels, and darker toned fur for men. The audience lit up with applause for a long sheer black dress with ruffles down the sides. One of my favorite dresses to fly down the catwalk was a long form-fitting sequined Superman dress complete with a blue cape!
Aside from the eye-shot fashions, all the models rocked neon extensions and pigtails thanks to hair stylist, Eugene Souleiman from Wella. The streaks of color in their hair enhanced the already bold ensembles styled by Francesca Burns. The makeup followed suit with bright eyeshadows and exaggerated lower lashes from MAC Pro makeup artist, Val Garland. Each model had a custom glitter manicure created by manicurist, Pattie Yankee for Dashing Diva. Between the hair, makeup, nails, and wardrobe, this fashion show was a neon orgasm and I loved it!
