Muted Minimalism & Cool Confidence at Max Azria
It was crowded as usual for the fabulous designs of Max and Lubov Azria‘s Max Azria collection. Once inside, we spotted blogger BFF’s Rumi Neely and BryanBoy sitting and anxiously waiting for the show to start!
The collection, like most of Max Azria’s previous collections, was minimalistic and flowy. According to the brand, “For Fall 2011, tailored sophistication meets urban ease, exploring the balance between femininity and function. Classic menswear fabrics brush against delicate silk georgette and crepe de chine, while a gradient palette of earth tones is energized by shades of bright orange and teal. Elegant yet sporty, her street-inspired wardrobe radiates cool confidence.”
In addition to the ensembles styled by Laura Ferrara, we saw the major revival of the simple yet chic black leather ankle strap pump, which paired perfectly with the silk blouses in shades of grey, taupe and brown. Of course, my favorite look was the pairing of a charcoal wool sweater with an apricot satin georgette skirt finished with brown leather belt and pumps. The look was definitely elegant and radiated the cool confidence that Max and Lubov were aiming for.
