Perry Ellis Plays Up The Neutrals for Fall 2011

Feb 11, 2011 By Vaneza

It was a huge crowd this morning at the main stage of the Lincoln Center for Perry Ellis. Guests excitedly got to their seats as romantic and soothing tunes by Bon Iver played in the background. The music was very fitting of the collection, which was simple, yet very put together and welcoming. The stage entrance walls, from which the models entered, had outlines of branches lightly drawn across them as the lighting was bright to compliment the softness and coziness of the clothes.

The collection, styled by Bruce Pask, was full of neutrals colored pieces in shades of vanilla, olive, brownstone, camel and charcol. 60 looks were presented with models who layered wool coats and jackets, cashmere sweaters and cordouroy trousers. Almost each look was paired with a wool item- perfect for braving the cold. The other two items that were present in almost all the outfits was a turtleneck and a beanie, which was either fitted or loose atop the models heads. And as for the models, there was no shortage of good looking men rocking the runway…we give major kudos to Trew Productions for their casting!

My favorite part of the show of course was the finale when all the models walked the runway in Perry Ellis long sleeved shirts and fitted pants….From the looks of it, Perry Ellis’ Fall 2011 collection is going to be quite romantic and cozy with a soft neutral pallete to match! How warm amd welcoming!
