Rebecca Minkoff Rocks The Runway
Music and fashion joined one another at Rebecca Minkoff‘s Fall 2011 fashion show. Her collection was inspired by Charlotte Kemp Muhl and encompasses Minkoff’s idea of an urban gypsy. Recipricating the creativity, Muhl and her boyfriend, Sean Lennon were inspired by Minkoff’s collection to create music for the fashion week event. The duo played before and during the show, bringing some much needed fun to the fashion crowd.
Spotted front row were MTV’s The Hills cast members Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt next to Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr and Michelle Trachtenberg. Right by the TV crowd was one of MyFDB’s favorite models, Agyness Deyn. I also saw America’s Next Top Model personality, Miss Jay.
The show obviously had more of a concert vibe with Muhl & Lennon’s customized soundtrack. Minkoff’s designs after all do embody the perfect concert outfit (Coachella anyone?) and included mixed textures such as leather and tweed shown next to chiffon and sequins. The eclectic collection consisted primarily of black and stone grey tones, sprinkled with camel and blood reds. Minkoff presented 31 looks all styled by Britt Bardo with hair from Ouidad and Makeup by Stila.
