Rebecca Taylor’s Fall 2011 was a Packed Party House!
If there was one show that really tested the true meaning of “standing room” it was definitely Rebecca Taylor‘s today at the main stage of Lincoln Center. It seemed as if hundreds of people packed in to get a glimpse of her collection and attend what felt like a Rebecca Taylor party. Guests were greeted with upbeat techno songs by Cut Copy; then as the show began a remixed version of “15 to 20″ by the Phenomenal Handclap got attendees dancing and the models strutting! The even cooler part, besides the fashion (which yes, I will get to) was the remix of the lovely Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep” that played throughout the rest of the show. You could really feel the fun fashion energy surging through the space!
Now…for the fashions of course! Like the Rebecca Taylor music chosen, the looks styled by Kate Sebbah were also loads of fun. Many of the pieces were brightly colored in jewel tones such as fuchsia, cranberry, teal, and cobalt. Paired with these bright beauties were luxe furs jackets in contrasting tones of nude and grey. Models also rocked high pointy boots in teal and as the show neared an end, they appeared in dresses with massive amounts of frill and sparkle! Beauty looks, courtesy of makeup artist Sil Bruinsma, consisted of smokey eyes, a bold lip and rosy cheeks. My favorite though was the hair created by Dai Michishita ,who crimped the model’s shiny locks- it was very 90′s yet modern at the same time. One thing for sure, Rebecca Taylor’s show and looks were the epitome of a fun party for the Fall!
