The Metalworker of Fashion Awakens

Feb 4, 2011 By Amy

The house of Paco Rabanne, currently known for their watches and fragrance, is returning to the world of fashion! The architect-turned-couturier, was once dubbed “the metalworker of fashion” by Coco Chanel, and was known for breaking fashion rules and used new materials to push the envelope.

Cut to thirty years later and 2006, when the house departed from the fashion scene and disappeared from news because the couturier wished to venture into other projects. Well, now the brand is back in a big way with the appointment of Indian designer, Manish Arora as the new Director of Women’s Wear. Arora is known for his innovative and provocative style, his looks will debut October 2011 at Paris Fashion Week. I look forward to seeing how he’s able to bring the Paco Rabanne brand up to date with a modern, yet creative twist.
