Would YOU Wear an Urban Outfitters Wedding Dress?
As much as I love Urban Outfitters for their adorable dresses and awesome sandals, I don’t know if I would necessarily rock a dress by the brand for my big day. Now according to WWD, Urban Outfitters’ newest retail concept known as “Bhldn” will be their latest venture into unique fashion in the form of bridal dresses. The dresses are said to be less traditional (think large amounts of taffeta, bows and decorative tulle) and will be sold with with other unique vintage-like items such as glassware, serving pieces, lingerie and shoes.
The line will appropriately launch via an e-commerce site on Valentine’s Day as their first store is set to open in August with a location still to be determined. The even cooler part is that soon-to-be brides can reach a team of stylists with just the click of an send email button. According to Kristin Norris, Bhldn’s managing director, the web site plans to eventually become the “go-to” for services such as photography and catering. Norris also said, “I kind of think of Bhldn as the sophisticated older sister.”
And with price points as high as $4,000 for gowns and up to $600 for party dresses it sounds quite sophisticated. Norris also said customers are slightly older, but still under 30.
I wonder…will the unique quirkiness be worth the price tag?
