Even though Britney Spears‘ new album is called “Femme Fatale,” the celebrity is looking more like a little girl rather than her sexy “I’m a Slave for You” alter ego on the cover of V magazine.

Sorry Britney, but a cuddly white kitten hardly screams “Femme Fatale,” and the whole “Britney Forever” editorial that follows reminds me more of her “Baby One More Time” days. I hope she’s not taking cues from Jennifer Aniston on how to look younger, because high contrast photos and fluffy cats aren’t the answer. Fans want to see the r-e-a-l Britney, not Britney overshadowed by pretty Easter colors.

This cover shot also dotes the quote: “The bitch is back and better than ever!” Uhh…again Britney, you don’t really give off the “bitch” vibe while you’re cradling a cat. Neither Britney nor the cat have their claws out for this shoot, in fact I bet that cat is getting its purrr on. Sadly, the cat only appears on the cover, so I’m a slightly disheartened that the feline didn’t make it into the full spread. Also, Britney why are you with a cat to begin with? You’re known for having dogs or dancing with pythons…strange.
