Clowns: Fashionable or Frightening?
Now I’ve never been a clown fan. Perhaps it was the movie IT, a bad birthday party experience, or anytime Ronald McDonald made an appearance at McDonald’s that made me disgusted by the creatures? Whatever it was, it’s still lingering… So when I saw clowns in fashion magazine AnOther I was far from excited. I know fashion can be a kooky at times, but I’m not a fan of this kind of “clowning around.”
I don’t know which model to feel worse for Kasia Struss or Iris Strubegger? Both had be outfitted with ridiculous clown makeup applied by Sally Branka. I highly doubt anyone on set went to clown college, so maybe that’s why they seem glum throughout the shoot? If the makeup wasn’t bad enough, I’m sure the ugly giant wigs were!
The entire editorial, which was photographed by Willy Vanderperre, has a very “sad clown meets fashion” feel to it. Regardless, please don’t let my “down on the clown” mentality stop you from checking out the full shoot on MyFDB!
So, what are your thoughts…
