John Galliano Loses His Own Name

Apr 15, 2011 By Amy

First his anti-Semitic tirad got him ousted from Christian Dior, now John Galliano has been kicked out of his own eponymous line. His forced departure isn’t surprising after learning that Christin Dior owns a 91% stake in the company. No word on Galliano looking to buy back ownership of his own company, and with his name still being worth money, Christian Dior has received offers from third-parties interested in the business. Of course, no word on if they’ll actually sell or not. In the interim, Galliano’s current in house design team will continue to take on creating future collections for the brand.

It looks like Galliano the designer is officially gone, but his namesake will continue to live on.
