MyFDB Talks With DJ Misty Rabbit
If there’s one thing I can’t start my day or a blog post without (besides the obvious cup of coffee) it’s definitely music…and good music at that. That being said, music and fashion are two things that are constantly pulling inspiration from one another and evolving together. We recently got the chance to chat with super cool DJ Misty Rabbit, who spins for some of the most fashionable in the industry…Check out her interview below.
What noteworthy fashion events have you DJ’d at?
I’ve DJ’d events for Prada, Miu Miu, Acne, Fendi, Victoire de Castellane..
After your post-Coachella party at The Purple Lounge in The Standard Hollywood, where you will be spinning next?
Currently, what tracks are on your personal playlist?
I listen a lot to Connan Mockasin’s new album “Forever Dolphin Love” on Erol Alkan’s label, Phantasy. I also like the new Metronomy album “The English Riviera”.
How do you think music influences fashion and fashion influences music?
Music influences fashion definitely! Music reflects a social cultural context and fashion is the sponge to make clothes out of the movements. Punk, new wave, synth pop, gothic, metal, folk…I can crystalize in my head a genre with a look immediately.
Lastly, how would you define your personal style and who are your go-to designers when getting ready for a gig?
Garçon Manqué with long hair. The way I dress to play depends on the nature of the gig. If it’s a techno rave party with it will be a lot of Acne and my friend’s Parisian label called American Retro. But if it’s more an elegant cocktail party, I definitely go for a Prada, Fendi, Chloé and Pucci ensemble. Lately, I really like Thakoon as well.
That’s a wrap!…Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. For more Misty Rabbit, head over to her official Soundcloud page…and listen to the mix below.
