Salma Hayek’s Decade Long Beauty Endeavor
Salma Hayek doesn’t just have acting, charity, and fashion on her mind, the Oscar nominated and Golden Globe winning beauty also wants to help make women prettier. A woman with many connections, Hayek chose to partner with CVS on an affordable beauty line named, Nuance Salma Hayek. With inspiration from her Mexican cosmetologist grandmother, Hayek has had the idea of creating a beauty line on her brain for about a decade. The project started six years ago and spent the past three being created–all with Hayek’s full-time dedication to the brand.
Hayek said in an interview with WWD, “It is possible to create extraordinary product for a low price. Everyone should have the right product at the right price. A lot of products don’t even cost a lot to make. I wanted to make simply the best product and give everyone access to the good stuff. I took three years off my [acting] career to work on this. This is not something that required 14 hours. Nooo, baby. This has been a full-time job.”
Given Hayek’s dedication to the line, this isn’t just another celebrity retailer collaboration and it sounds like it’s actually worth trying out.
