In Your Face: Part Art, Part Model, All Creative

Jun 19, 2011 By Amy

What do you think of when you see the shot above? I immediately thought Picasso and when I saw the rest of this “It Came From The Sky” editorial from Dazed & Confused, I wasintroduced to a shoot that is part art, part model and all creative! Artistic nests of color were strategically created by artist Maurizio Anzeri for each photograph. It looks almost as if something is growing out of each model’s head.

The shoot was styled byRobbie Spencer, who chose pieces that wouldn’t take away from the art. Lensed by the amazing Richard Burbridge, the photographer shot in black and white assuring each art piece would be the focal point of the shots.

It’s actually hard to choose a favorite shot from this series, because all of the images are so visually stimulating. Green rays spewing from model Herieth Paul? Yes, I love it!
