It was recently announced that the designer has been named the official tourism ambassador of Mexico City. And although his descent is that of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, Mexico City saw him fit for the role.�According to the official Mexico City�government�press release, Oscar de la Renta received recognition for his�career�as “one of the titans of fashion.”

At a press conference, Oscar touched on his career in the United States, deeming that regardless of his nationally, the successes�achieved�in his life are a product of all Latinos.
