Philipp Plein Hires Lindsay Lohan For Racy Campaign
Philipp Plein loves tragic Hollywood starlets more than the tabloids. The brand first had an affair with former “The OC” star Mischa Barton back in 2010 and now they’re sinking their teeth into the skinny coke loving Lindsay Lohan. Okay, I kid. She’s totally clean, or at least that’s what I’m told. The infamous actress has been named the face of Philipp Plein. I know most of you haven’t heard of the German designer or his line, but all of his past ad campaigns are housed on MyFDB, so you can get idea of his designs and aesthetic– which apparently Lindsay fits perfectly in.
The brand said of the partnership, “Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model. We will be able to create unique images: Refined and luxurious, but also full of sensuality.” They aren’t kidding about that “sensuality” either. In their current fall 2011 ad campaign a model is completely bare with the exception of a skull motif covering up her privates. I’m sure we can all picture Lohan in that provocative role.
Considering Lohan’s appearance at Cynthia Rowley’s NYFW show last week got a lot of talk, maybe the young designer is on to something? Although, I don’t think getting attention for your clothes by having some sad celebrity as the face of your brand makes me what to purchase anything from your collection. Plein’s new collection which Lohan will be the face of debuts this Saturday during Milan Fashion Week and we hear she’ll be front row (of course). Let the media circus ensue!
