Sexy, dramatic, playful, and spontaneous are just a few of the ways you could sum up renowned photographer Craig McDean‘s work. The photog has literally shot everyone from celebs to models for brands like Calvin Klein and Oscar de la Renta to working with mags such as Vogue Italia, W, and most recently AnOther. In this editorial Dean partnered up with the publication to shoot the lovely Rachel Weisz for shots that can only be described as cinematically surreal.

The fantasy-like aspect of the shoot is refreshing and we love the creative angles coupled with shadow and lighting effects. Weisz plays her part perfectly as each shot is a whole new scenario– opposed to an editorial which tells a story. Although, there may be an underlying tale, but we’re too caught up in with the imagery’s whimsical feel. Dean also captured Weisz for the issue’s cover, where she’s holding a camera shy fawn (aka a baby dear).
