Welcome To The Gun Show, Rebecca Taylor
Ready? Aim. Fire! Slicked back hair followed slicked back style at Rebecca Taylor‘s spring 2012 show today. The designer presented 41 looks that had an edge without being off brand; everything remained delightfully feminine and pretty. Whether you want to admit it or not, we all have a bad girl inside us and Taylor brought out the perfect amount of her for the collection.
Asymmetrical pieces, mesh knit sweaters, along with sequined tops and bottoms were a hit with the crowd which included Whitney Port and Louise Roe, (seated front row together). Taylor’s mix of prints and textured fabrics was refreshing, along with the bold pops of color she added in. Overall, it was the gunmetal looks that stole the show! The sizzling pieces were dark, but softened up with lace and sequined accents. The clothes screamed “look at me” without having a sense of promiscuity or overbearingness to them.
On the beauty front, hair stylist Dai Michishita for Culter created the slicked back styles to compliment the clothes, while makeup artist Sil Bruinsma of MAC colored the eyes and cheeks of the models. The model’s faces grab your attention without taking away from the magic of the ensembles.
All in all, the show was a firing range success.
