Lucky girls in Australia can have a little piece of provocative elegance soon. Early next month, Dita Von Teese with Australian Target are set to release a line of sumptuous and refined vintage-inspired lingerie. The line, called Von Follies, arose from Dita’s love of her own collection of antique lingerie pieces, which she has amassed over the years. In the press release for Von Follies, Dita herself stated that she wanted to the collection to exude vintage glamour, but still be wearable for the contemporary woman: “I wanted to design pieces that are tributes to my vintage obsessions, to make them beautiful and functional, while modernising them for everyday wear.”

The designs for the beautiful and sultry pieces include accents from her personal collection and has an attention to detail that can only be found in vintage. She incorporates ideas from the iconic nature vintage undergarments such as a very 50s overwire bra, sexy garter belts, high waisted panties, and va-va-voom corsolettes. Miss Von Teese explains that these underthings are definitely not meant to be hidden away: “I’ve had a longtime fascination with the 1950’s era overwire bras. It’s something that has been quite a task to create, but the end result is so chic, and so unique, I’m very proud of it. It’s a statement piece meant to be seen. I am also very happy with the beautiful panties we’ve made and can’t wait to have them in my lingerie drawer! They are so comfortable and sexy, and flattering on any shape,” she said. Other accents including velvet ribbons, fine lace, some signature leopard print, and tantalizing mesh are revealed in this luxurious collection that is sure to make anyone feel like a burlesque queen.

Dita asserts that it was important to her to consider all types of body sizes. She declares that this collection is for all types of curves and would make any woman a knockout: “It was very important to me to offer lingerie in a large range of sizes. Size range was one of the first things I asked when I was approached to create this collection. It was important to me to accomplish the task of making these beautiful things in sizes that can make any woman feel sexy and glamorous, and I’m very proud that we have been able to do that, while keeping prices affordable.”

Hopefully Dita will collaborate to bring a line that is available to all of her fans around the world but until then, we can remain coveting these beautiful lingerie pieces and wishing they could be ours this Valentine’s Day.
