Monique Lhuillier F/W 2012: Seductive Sophistication
In an exuberant world of fierce femininity Monique Lhuillier is the reigning queen. Known for her classic wedding dresses and elegant fashions, Lhuillierʼs collections are always in tune with a womanʼs figure and grace. Her Fall/Winter 2012 collection is no exception- sexy and flirty yet ultra lady-like, it is a meticulous mix of edge, seductive sophistication and retro glam.
The designerʼs latest line was inspired by volcanoes, fire, heat and lava, so itʼs no surprise that the collection erupted with sensuality. The runway showcased waist synched dresses in lady-like silhouettes that have a suggestive color palette filled with vibrant reds, deep obsidians, sleek graphites and fiery prints. Leather accents added brazen sex appeal to all of the retro shaped, high neckline dresses in the collection; while color-blocked black and red kept the looks downtown edgy. Sumptuous fur coats and demurely sheer fabrics invoked a seductive mystique in the clothing. The pieces are enhanced with on trend additions like sharp cutouts and bold gold sequined shoulders, making a fierce statement of the nature of feminine strength and power. Glamour spilled all over the runway when the extravagant red gowns, that exploded with glittering sequins, embroidery and lace, glided into view.
These were the show stopping dresses of the collection that personified the heat of a woman’s sexuality. The breathtaking, vibrant red finale gown combusted with the elegance and sensuality of a female, which was a prevailing theme in all of the designs. With a daringly low halter neck line, a fitted lace bodice accompanied by leather detailing, and a voluptuous, billowing, pleated organza skirt this gorgeous gown stole the show.
Each ensemble in the collection radiated with femininity and fortitude, traits that are eponymous of a Lhuillier woman. Truly a luxe ready-to-wear line, these vibrant and seriously sexy designs are the perfect remedy for the dull, dark dreary days of Fall and Winter.
