Remember when we told you about Zoe Saldana being the new face of CK’s Envy Underwear line? Well, more of her ads have been released, along with a few behind-the-scenes photos. We’re so excited to see Zoe in magazines and billboards sporting the line. According to WWD, “The multimillion-dollar print and outdoor advertising campaign breaks mid-September, in October magazines, and she also will appear in an online video on cku.com.”

So what exactly is Zoe’s take on undergarments?

“I like when you are able to assist your body to look amazing as opposed to replacing anything. That’s exactly what Calvin Klein Underwear Envy does. It helps you, it assists you, but it will not overshadow what you can bring naturally.”

Upon the close of Paris couture week, Valentino Garavani brought out the movers and shakers of the industry for a dazzling soriee. Guests swooned over his gigantic home, Wideville estate, and even caught a glimpse of Garavani’s private museum, which houses many of his original sketches. This chic event brought out the likes of Anna Wintour, Claire Danes, Jane Fonda, Elizabeth Hurley, Marc Jacobs, Jessica Alba and more.

Garavani and his pugs are obviously enjoying retirement in this palatial Parisian chateau along with Giancarlo Giammetti.

Chanel‘s fall couture show was ferocious — literally. Models walked amidst a gargantuan lion while showcasing the latest looks from Karl Lagerfeld. The Creative Director stuck to classic tweeds and fitted suits, but also threw in some loud patterns softened with gold accents. We like how he was able to incorporate florals, patterns, and fur touches all in the same cohesive collection.

Oh, and the reason for the lion? Coco Chanel was a Leo.

John Galliano recently fluffed up nature for Christian Dior‘s fall couture runway. This flowery fete left attendees swooning over bright colors, textured fabrics, and stunning hair. The show featured wildflower dresses followed by a finale of spectacular gowns.

As reported by WWD,  “The drama of the clothes set amidst the venue’s small scale brought to mind Galliano’s spectacular origami-inspired collection for spring ’07. Audacity of color and cut marked Galliano’s lineup; he started with a nod to Monsieur Dior’s tulip line and exploded it into a visual feast. High-impact color reigned supreme.”

The collection is eye-shot with amazing shapes making us covet each look.

After seeing Sarah Burton’s striking RTW men’s looks for Alexander McQueen, we were even more excited to see her cruise collection creations. Burton brought out some McQueen staples including strong shoulders, textured materials, and bold looks with inspiration drawn from samurai warriors and Hans Bellmer’s dolls.

Burton told WWD, she wanted to “juxtapose the pale and the delicate with the bold and armorial. It’s about a highly structured torso that gives way to a more fluid silhouette or drop waists that lead to a finned trouser or skirt.”

After the tragic loss of Alexander McQueen rumors spread about what would become of the fashion house. To keep things running, the company enlisted Sarah Burton as its new creative director. She just debuted her first collection for the brand in Milan. It’s full of monumental McQueen staples, yet feels humble and honors the late designer. There are lots of jackets and long coats that mimic McQueen’s English background and the red look below reflects his vivid fondness for bold pieces. According to WWD, “the proceedings carried a lingering sense of mourning, and Burton elected not to take a bow.”

Georgio Armani kept his collection feeling light with two-button blazers and touches of blue and lime. Many of his linen slacks and sport coats have a sheen to them which we expect to turn into a menswear trend.

The theme for Dsquared2‘s collection was “American Gigolo,” which fittingly sums up their looks. Lots of unbuttoned garments, preppy attire, and shirtless men hit the runway. We liked their fitted blazers and button down shirts. Although, it’s up to the wearer to decide how far down to unbutton.

Moschino men’s RTW took a bold turn with bright colors and fitted tailoring, perfect for their youthful market. Keeping true to their rock and roll vibe, the brand presented colorful casual slacks and added hued accents to their garments.

Obviously we’re big Catherine Malandrino fans at MyFDB, and her resort collection encompasses many of the Malandrino details we have come to love. Her latest looks were in collaboration with FFAWN (The Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now) which was founded by singer, Mary J. Blige, who strutted he runway alongside Catherine. The Malandrino + FFAWN collection pays homage to iconic moments in fashion and music with images such as Tina Turner and Grace Jones.

Highlights include studded leather jackets, high-waist wide-leg pants, cool jersey t-shirts and caftans. Best of all her resort collection was for a cause, A pledge of 100% of the evening’s ticket proceeds were donated to FFAWN with a goal to raise enough funds to send a graduating class of seniors from the Women’s Academy of Excellence in Bronx, NY to college.

Denim line 7 For All Mankind is rolling out haute new ad campaigns set to debut this fall. Having exited the print ad realm for a bit, the company is back with high fashion photogs, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott who were brought on by advertising agency, Chandelier Creative.

As reported by WWD, “The agency helped bring in Alas and Piggott, who are known for their high-fashion work for clients such as Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani and Miu Miu. Styled by Alex White, the images were shot on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills as the sun was setting, capturing the area’s famous “golden hour” and giving the ads a radiant hue.”

Chanel Iman recently showed Modelinia her favorite clothing picks from her mother’s new Culver City, CA boutique, The Red Bag. The shop houses chic clothing alongside vintage items. There’s even a rack filled with garments from Iman’s closet that are up for grabs.  The model signs the tag for each piece she personally selected for the store. The video below also reveals how Chanel’s mother came up with the idea for their hanger girl logo. We’re craving many of the items featured, so we may have to take little MyFDB field trip to the boutique. Enjoy!
