The Pirelli Calendar has become one of fashions most interesting traditions, each year a major photographer goes off and captures models and muses who pose nude for the calendar. Last year Karl Lagerfeld had the honor and for 2012 it’s Mario Sorrenti. The photographer captured beautiful artistic nude shots of models Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fontana, Milla Jovovich, Guinevere Van Seenus, Saskia de Brauw, Malgosia Bela, Edita Vilkeviciute, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

Interesting tid bit, Sorrenti and Moss used to date, but this shoot was all platonic as Moss is now married. The shoot actually took place back in May, but with the anticipation of the new year upon us, the images have just made their way onto the web. An interactive online component has been added this year, where a subscriber can pick and choose the models he wants to appear. For instance, if someone doesn’t want to part with Lara Stone, they can opt to continue to have her image up. Subscribers are given a login to access to the exclusive features on the Pirelli Calendar website.

The girls are shot primarily in black and white and the images are nothing short of incredible photographic artwork. Confession, we spent awhile ogling them too!

Who says people in fashion don’t eat? Because we do…sometimes. Well, instead of eating food, Karl Lagerfeld opted to hold a fashion show among an elegant dinner setting for the debut of Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The garments encompassed the fine craftsmanship we love about Chanel coupled with the creativity we love about Lagerfeld. For the season’s looks Lagerfeld drew inspiration from India. Many of the models donned traditional style Indian head pieces, which were blinged out to the max- the collection is named, Métiers d’Art.

Style.com dubbed it, “all the Raj” and went on to report, “The theme “Paris-Bombay” was a reminder that Europe’s fashion industry has increasingly turned to India to produce extravagantly handworked pieces as it has become prohibitively expensive to make them at home. Lagerfeld’s fiendish plan was to flip the equation, so that everything that looked intricately Indian was actually made by Chanel’s ateliers in Paris.” But what’s even more interesting is that Lagerfeld has actually never visited India. ”It’s much more inspiring not to go to places than to go,” he told Style.com. Uhmm…really? Because, we’d like to physically visit a destination to be inspired by it more.

Anyways, on to the show! The collection was obviously a hit with the jeweled accents along with the use of silks and tweed. On the catwalk Lagerfeld walked out alongside mature modeling maven Stella Tennant (above). Mother daughter duo Yasmin Le Bon (42) and Amber Le Bon (22) both walked in the show for a unique bonding experience. Front row, Bollywood starlet Freida Pinto showed her support. A-list models Kasia Struss, Arizona Muse, Crystal Renn, Anja Rubik, and even muse Baptiste Giabiconi got in the fun with a turban on the elegant catwalk.

Model Paz De La Huerta is a force to be reckoned with! The leggy brunette poses clad in black panties with a matching bra for Flaunt magazine. Her kick ass attitude is revealed through her editorial entitled, “You Better Paz Yourself Before You Play Yourself“. Paz is best known for her lead role as Lucy Danziger on Boardwalk Empire.  A major must watch! It’s hard to believe she’s only 27; the beauty began modeling at the young age of 14. The combination of her acting skills and beauty make her a hot threat, so we think she has a bright career ahead of her.

For this Flaunt shoot photog Warwick Saint shot the model-actress in some uber seductive poses that are sinfully stunning. The black and white photography makes her shots even more lust worthy.

The beautiful blonde locks and green eyes of this week’s Model Monday, Aline Weber unsurprisingly hail from Brazil. Having been in the industry since 2004 her MyFDB Portfolio is growing considerably larger each season. The Brazilian modeling world has become pretty competitive with names like Gisele hailing from the country, but Weber was discovered by a photographer who snapped some shots of her and then sent them into agencies. One thing led to another and now we have ourselves another big catwalk star. We already have all the images from five of the F/W ad campaigns she stars in this season, including Theory, Derek Lam, DKNY, DKNY Jeans, and A.P.C. And to impress you even more she hit the runway for major labels including Givenchy, Isabel Marant, Balmain, and Gareth Puge to show S/S ’12 looks. Our favorite thing about Weber? She had a cameo in Tom Ford‘s “A Single Man,” she was a seductive cigarette smoking student in the classroom…tres sexy!

I don’t know what’s more interesting about this shoot, that Lindsey Wixson could easily be the poster child for the girl next door turned high fashion supermodel or that this shoot is from online fashion hub Style.com’s new print publication. In an era where print is shrinking and models seem to be taking over, it’s interesting to see the website-turned-magazine select Wixson for their first cover.

Her editorial that ensues is entitled, “This American Girl” and follows the model through a small town like setting all the way to the bright lights of the runway. What’s cool is the publication gave her not only one ginormous editorial, but two! We start out by seeing Wixson do normal people things like go to the dentist, shoot guns, and do laundry. (Okay, the guns part may not be that “normal” for everyone.) Meanwhile, the second half of her shoot, “This American Girl Part 2” continues to take us on a journey with Wixson. Part deux is much more high fashion focused with dreamy Parisian backgrounds…Oh la la!

I’m not sure if this is an advertorial or editorial, but either way I love seeing the adorable Ton Heukels pose with lion cubs. Of course, the cubs are in fact much cuter, but Huekels isn’t too shabby either. Titled, “A Traveller’s Story: Louis Vuitton Special” this shoot exclusively features (you guessed it) Louis Vuitton clothing. Styled by Alister Mackie our  young cub- the model not the lion- wears everything from a full suit to posing in the buff. All of the images were captured by Alasdair McLellan for AnOther Man magazine. Each picture has a bold red background which compliments its jungle aesthetic. Even though this is jungle themed, I wonder where this editorial shoot actually took place? Either way, it’s a super cute must-see and includes some awesome men’s looks that can easily be replicated at a lower price point. Sorry Louis, we can’t all afford you.

Are those flowers in your hair or are you just happy to see me? Supermodel cover girls were beautified for a makeup and hair spread in Vogue Paris. Simply titled, “Cover Girls” (which is what they all are) readers get up close with the faces of Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, Izabel Goulart, Karolina Kurkova, Arizona Muse (pictured), and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem. The shoot may remind of those days when you used to play dress up and get all fancy with your hair and makeup. The girls each take on a lively persona for photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Cosmetic-wise nude lips and faces are seen throughout a few of the shots and sultry orange pout makes its way into two shots, which we love. Thank you makeup artist, Lisa Butler.

It has always been said that “it doesn’t take a million bucks, to look like a million bucks.” However, this Tatler magazine editorial titled, “It Takes A Lot Of Money To Look This Rich” pulls out all the stops to prove the old saying wrong. Model Maja Salamon didn’t have to empty her bank account, instead stylist Anna Bromilow brought in some incredible couture looks for the blond to jump into. This includes pieces from Chanel Haute Couture, Manolo Blanik shoes, Valentino Haute Couture, Atelier Versace and more. The immaculate gowns are clearly the focal point of each shot by photographer Marcin Tyszka, so hair stylist Michal Bielecki kept Salamon’s locks simple, yet glamorously wavy.

When you think of blonde hair & blue eyes, the word “exotic” probably doesn’t come to mind, except Emily Baker is anything but the norm. Her unique look has morphed her into one of the industry’s “it” girls. Currently, she’s reigning in three top F/W 2011 ad campaigns (Tommy Hilfiger, DSquared2, and Gucci) and was given the coveted role of opening and closing the Oscar de la Renta spring 2012 show in September. Oh and back in February you may have seen her walking for Balenciaga, Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Now is a good time to mention this New Zealand native just began modeling, she signed with DNA in 2010.  Most recently, Baker popped up in this haute “Couture 2011” editorial in V magazine.
