The cover and editorial, “Collections,” for the July issue of Vogue Italia is an over-the-top photo set to be sure. Depicted in spectacular large spreads are the most sensational Fall/Winter 2012 collections, augmented by dynamic compositions and considerable sets. The collections of Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Commes des Garcons, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Versace, Rick Owens, and Louis Vuitton all take on a distinctive personality as the set and styling of each photo keeps the disposition of each collection in mind. Stylist Karl Templer creates moods that fluctuate drastically. From the lustrous dark attitude of the Givenchy collection to the quirky and amusing Commes des Garcons collections, the styling is reflective of each collections’ distinguishing personality. Similarly, set designer Mary Howard interprets the environment for each collection keeping the tone of the editorial impressive and playful. Models Vanessa Axente, Elena Bartels, Ros Georgiou, Hedvig Palm, Julia Nobis, Erjona Ala, Mackenzie Drazan, Lida Fox, Lula Osterdahl, and Ophelie Rupp are the embodiment of each look with poses of such energy and intensity. Thrilling and entertaining, “Collections” is not simply about the sensational photography or the extensive sets, but indeed about the captivating collections and their different characters. The nature of each collection and the temperament of their customer is so fantastically diverse that the appeal of “Collections” lies in the assortment.

Lily Cole gets patriotic for her editorial and cover for S Moda. This issue celebrates the 2012 London Olympics with an interpretation of British fashion throughout the decades. Photographer Damon Baker and stylist Alberto Murta channel the edgy British attitude using an eclectic mix of designers like Dr. Martins, Givenchy, Manish Arora, Blumarine, Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, and Agent Provocateur. Bold accessories make up an important addition to most of the looks in the photo set. Hats range from a lustrous petit leather beret, to a feathered headdress of the showgirl variety as well as a sweetly dazzling velvety crown. Of course, Twiggy was the inspiration for the 60s look and Cole’s doe eyes suited the look perfectly.

The bold editorial entitled “We Are The Champions,” shot by Ellen von Unwerth, features harsh contrasts, body conscious fashion, long locks, warrior inspiration, and athletic undertones. A slight subversiveness throughout the photo narrative highlights Renn’s dominating female role. A changing chameleon with a decisively strong personality, she wears the elaborate fashions rather than letting the fashion wear her. Creative designers such as Maison Margiela, Roberto Cavalli, Pucci, and Herve Leger are featured in the editorial as well as extensive use of the outlandish and decadent jewelry designs of Glynneth B. The photos speak volumes in their intensity and captivating nature and that is exactly why Schon has declared “We Are The Champions,” a sure winner.

It is possible that Bekah Jenkins could have fooled some fisherman into thinking she’s a creature of the sea when viewing her mermaid inspired fashion spread for Canadian Flare. Lounging languidly on a stony shore, or inside a rocky cave, the environments complement the glistening beauty of the garments she wears. Otherworldly and rich, they do evoke the idea of a “fish out of water” as she seems to emerge from the waves, but still remains connected to them. The photos create a narrative of an inseparable bond with the nurturing earth.

A particularly striking photo in the set is defined by the magnificent Peter Pilotto Spring/Summer 2012 dress, which adorns Jenkins, and is the breathtaking focus of the photo. The digital print of the dress is quite an anomaly among the other pieces. The quality that keeps it cohesive with the other pieces is its suggestiveness of waves and serenity. The May 2012 Flare splendidly illustrates chic summer fashion through with the tranquil beauty of the sea. Mermaid beauty is definitely a trend for Summer 2012 and these serene photos capture the wonder and exquisiteness of the ever-magical ocean.

1. SHOWstudio: Fashion Fetish video “F*ck Me” Ruth Hogben and featuring Karlie Kloss- This vampy video is another in a sequence of collaborations between Karlie Kloss and SHOWstudio. The hyper-sexual video has been making waves in the fashion world for it’s subversive content and controversial title. This Fashion Fetish video was made to compliment the new SHOWstudio exhibition “Selling Sex.” More videos on the topic are in the works but for now we have a very sexy Miss Kloss to keep us entertained.

2. Mulberry S/S 2012 Ad Campaign- Muberry’s classic summer collection was inspired by “the retro holiday experience, nostalgic seaside scenes and eclectic British summer activities.” This short and very sweet Campaign video displays the picturesque setting of Brighton Beach with Lindsey Wixson and Frida Gustavsson modeling. Digital animation has caused Andy Hillman’s ice-cream creations to melt juxtaposing this surreal happenstance with the idyllic scene.

3. Tom Ford Womenswear F/W 2012-2o13 Collection- Tom ford’s collection video is very much all about the clothes. Split screens allow the viewer to see multiple angles and details of the sleek and luxurious collection. The trendy music matches each picture with the beat and this culminates in a flickering of photos and finally finishes in the now iconic dress Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Oscars.

4. Calvin Klein Jeans S/S 2012 Video featuring Lara Stone- Color blocking is certainly the name of the game in Calvin Klein’s Summer campaign video. A very tanned and toned bevy of models, including Lara Stone, advertises their bold and colorful jeans on a rocky outcrop. Nobody ever thought to wear jeans to play in the waves… until now.

5. Madonna “Girl Gone Wild” Video- The seemingly immortal Madonna has done it again with a ferociously fierce video for her new song “Girl Gone Wild.” Full of untamed and body conscious fashion and men in pantyhose, this video shows us why we still love the original wild material girl.

The Pirelli Calendar has become one of fashions most interesting traditions, each year a major photographer goes off and captures models and muses who pose nude for the calendar. Last year Karl Lagerfeld had the honor and for 2012 it’s Mario Sorrenti. The photographer captured beautiful artistic nude shots of models Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fontana, Milla Jovovich, Guinevere Van Seenus, Saskia de Brauw, Malgosia Bela, Edita Vilkeviciute, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

Interesting tid bit, Sorrenti and Moss used to date, but this shoot was all platonic as Moss is now married. The shoot actually took place back in May, but with the anticipation of the new year upon us, the images have just made their way onto the web. An interactive online component has been added this year, where a subscriber can pick and choose the models he wants to appear. For instance, if someone doesn’t want to part with Lara Stone, they can opt to continue to have her image up. Subscribers are given a login to access to the exclusive features on the Pirelli Calendar website.

The girls are shot primarily in black and white and the images are nothing short of incredible photographic artwork. Confession, we spent awhile ogling them too!

Who says people in fashion don’t eat? Because we do…sometimes. Well, instead of eating food, Karl Lagerfeld opted to hold a fashion show among an elegant dinner setting for the debut of Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The garments encompassed the fine craftsmanship we love about Chanel coupled with the creativity we love about Lagerfeld. For the season’s looks Lagerfeld drew inspiration from India. Many of the models donned traditional style Indian head pieces, which were blinged out to the max- the collection is named, Métiers d’Art.

Style.com dubbed it, “all the Raj” and went on to report, “The theme “Paris-Bombay” was a reminder that Europe’s fashion industry has increasingly turned to India to produce extravagantly handworked pieces as it has become prohibitively expensive to make them at home. Lagerfeld’s fiendish plan was to flip the equation, so that everything that looked intricately Indian was actually made by Chanel’s ateliers in Paris.” But what’s even more interesting is that Lagerfeld has actually never visited India. ”It’s much more inspiring not to go to places than to go,” he told Style.com. Uhmm…really? Because, we’d like to physically visit a destination to be inspired by it more.

Anyways, on to the show! The collection was obviously a hit with the jeweled accents along with the use of silks and tweed. On the catwalk Lagerfeld walked out alongside mature modeling maven Stella Tennant (above). Mother daughter duo Yasmin Le Bon (42) and Amber Le Bon (22) both walked in the show for a unique bonding experience. Front row, Bollywood starlet Freida Pinto showed her support. A-list models Kasia Struss, Arizona Muse, Crystal Renn, Anja Rubik, and even muse Baptiste Giabiconi got in the fun with a turban on the elegant catwalk.

Model Paz De La Huerta is a force to be reckoned with! The leggy brunette poses clad in black panties with a matching bra for Flaunt magazine. Her kick ass attitude is revealed through her editorial entitled, “You Better Paz Yourself Before You Play Yourself“. Paz is best known for her lead role as Lucy Danziger on Boardwalk Empire.  A major must watch! It’s hard to believe she’s only 27; the beauty began modeling at the young age of 14. The combination of her acting skills and beauty make her a hot threat, so we think she has a bright career ahead of her.

For this Flaunt shoot photog Warwick Saint shot the model-actress in some uber seductive poses that are sinfully stunning. The black and white photography makes her shots even more lust worthy.

The beautiful blonde locks and green eyes of this week’s Model Monday, Aline Weber unsurprisingly hail from Brazil. Having been in the industry since 2004 her MyFDB Portfolio is growing considerably larger each season. The Brazilian modeling world has become pretty competitive with names like Gisele hailing from the country, but Weber was discovered by a photographer who snapped some shots of her and then sent them into agencies. One thing led to another and now we have ourselves another big catwalk star. We already have all the images from five of the F/W ad campaigns she stars in this season, including Theory, Derek Lam, DKNY, DKNY Jeans, and A.P.C. And to impress you even more she hit the runway for major labels including Givenchy, Isabel Marant, Balmain, and Gareth Puge to show S/S ’12 looks. Our favorite thing about Weber? She had a cameo in Tom Ford‘s “A Single Man,” she was a seductive cigarette smoking student in the classroom…tres sexy!
