Remember when we told you about Zoe Saldana being the new face of CK’s Envy Underwear line? Well, more of her ads have been released, along with a few behind-the-scenes photos. We’re so excited to see Zoe in magazines and billboards sporting the line. According to WWD, “The multimillion-dollar print and outdoor advertising campaign breaks mid-September, in October magazines, and she also will appear in an online video on cku.com.”

So what exactly is Zoe’s take on undergarments?

“I like when you are able to assist your body to look amazing as opposed to replacing anything. That’s exactly what Calvin Klein Underwear Envy does. It helps you, it assists you, but it will not overshadow what you can bring naturally.”

Eyes were on Miami this past week for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2011. Plus with summer in full effect, it’s nice to see next year’s swimsuit trends already taking shape. What was standout you ask? Well, patterns, prints, and bold colors — which you probably expect to see in swimwear. However, we were excited by details like the illusion of different textures, color blocking, and hardware used within the suit’s structure.

Elena Coleman previously took the architectural industry by storm, but when she started crafting jewelry inspired by her fascination with geometric shapes a new career began to form. Enter, TomTom Jewelry, Coleman’s line of modern and intricate accessories.  “I’m obsessed with geometry and angles and I love making models,” Coleman told WWD about her collection. “They are statement pieces, but they are also very easy to wear.”

Accessory trends tend to come and go, but staple pieces are like treasured collections in our jewelry boxes and Coleman’s line is one of those rare gems that you want to hold on to.

Prada is dancing into a new endeavor, a fresh ad campaign and eyewear thanks to a partnership with Luxottica. The stylish Prada Swing Sunglasses line has a signature shape with their signature logo on the side. The company is debuting the shades at New York’s famous jazz club, Joe’s Pub — the same location that Steven Meisel shot the eyewear’s ad campaign.

These shapely shades will be available in Prada boutiques and Luxottica owned shop, Sunglass Hut and will retail for $245.

Chanel is no stranger to the luxury watch market, but they recently created their first men’s diving watch, the J12 Marine, and tapped surfing legend, Laird Hamilton as it’s spokesman. The choice is unique and fitting, as Hamilton stays out of the spotlight and isn’t exactly a luxury aficionado, but he is someone who’s passionate about ocean conservation and knows quality products.

Hamilton told WWD, “I don’t endorse a lot of product and have never endorsed a watch, and I think that’s what brought me up on Chanel’s radar. A real authentic, masculine timepiece is a departure from the Chanel brand image, and I think they were also looking for a departure in the type of spokesperson they chose.”

Hamilton put the watch to the test in the ocean and said its best attribute is perhaps the most basic: “It stays on my arm. A watch is going to take a beating getting banged around on surfboards and paddles, which is why probably every other watch I’ve ever had I’ve lost.”

It’s great to see Chanel embracing an unlikely, yet well suited spokesman. Bravo Laird!

Luxe brand, Balenciaga has opened a men’s store in Paris dedicated towards their modern male customer. Situated at 5 rue de Varenne, the shop boasts “a concept made for men” according to Isabelle Guichot, Balenciaga’s chief executive officer. The store’s look was the brainchild of designer, Nicholas Ghesquiere and French artist Dominique-Gonzalez Foerster. The decor is meant to remind the shopper of a submarine and there are numerous high-tech compliments throughout from lighting details to metallic fitting room doors. Talk about diving into high-end retail!

Chanel Iman recently showed Modelinia her favorite clothing picks from her mother’s new Culver City, CA boutique, The Red Bag. The shop houses chic clothing alongside vintage items. There’s even a rack filled with garments from Iman’s closet that are up for grabs.  The model signs the tag for each piece she personally selected for the store. The video below also reveals how Chanel’s mother came up with the idea for their hanger girl logo. We’re craving many of the items featured, so we may have to take little MyFDB field trip to the boutique. Enjoy!
