Hot off the presses, the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, a sex-driven womenʼs magazine, has recently hit the stands donning the seventeen-year-old Dakota Fanning as itʼs cover girl.

Fanning looks gorgeous and all-grown-up on the cover with dark kohl liner that frames the actressʼ icy blue eyes, bronzed cheeks and plump pink lips. Her hair is perfectly straight and white blonde and she is wearing a pink sequined body con dress with a dangerously low cut neck line that displays her youthful curves for all to envy.

Regardless of how beautiful the star appears, this cover is causing a great deal of controversy. Many media outlets are outraged by the underaged girl being displayed next to such racy headlines as, “His Best Sex Ever: Guys Describe the Mind-Blowing Moves They Canʼt Stop Thinking About,” “ Too Naughty to Say Here: But You Have to Try This Sex Trick,” and “Um, Vagina, Are You Okay Down There?“ This Cosmo debacle comes just months after a Marc Jacobs perfume ad featuring Fanning was banned from the UK for sexualizing a minor.

Fanningʼs reps have not commented on the Cosmo controversy but many are attempting to answer the question on everyoneʼs mind, “is Dakota Fanning too young for Cosmo?”

It’s crazy to think that we have watched Dakota Fanning literally grow up before our eyes. The young actress has now become quite the model and fashionista. It’s no surprise that she graces the September cover of Dazed & Confused. Shot by Mark Segal, the black and white editorial features a rebellious yet beautiful Fanning. She has definitely become one to watch, we’re looking forward to it.
