It is an occasion for riotous celebration! The long adored house of Dolce and Gabbana has successfully created a top-secret couture collection! Debuted in an exclusive and clandestine show in Sicily, the show was only a part of a weekend-long event to celebrate the line. The collection has been a project that has been in production for the past six months, but a dream that has been in the making for years.

With 27 years of experience in the business, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, know exactly how to play the game of the fashion industry. Inviting the crème de la crème to take part in this incredible couture centered weekend secured patrons from an already admiring following. Only three publications- The Daily Telegraph, Le Figaro, and Corriere della Sera as well as the editors of Vogue were allowed to cover the show and events under the strictest of standards. Gabbana explained that all the secrecy was “not because of us, but the customers. They really do not want to see their dresses in a magazine.”

Dolce and Gabbana seem to have made the event truly into an affair to remember, hosting evenings of fine dinners and dancing in the throughout the several days leading up to the show. Before the presentation of the 73 couture looks, Stefano Gabbana declared: “When we started out 27 years ago, our dream was to become a maison like Chanel, old Chanel. And now, maybe, this dream is coming true.”

A total stunner on and off the runway, this week’s Model Monday Kate King is currently reigning over fashion and we think her kingdom is about to expand. You probably saw her walking in Diesel Black Gold, Cynthia Rowley, and Chloe’s shows during this past New York Fashion Week. Abroad the Canadian beauty was previously chosen by Prada, Missoni, and Dolce & Gabbana to strut on their international catwalks. Her runway credentials are seriously impressive considering she only started modeling a year ago.

Signed to Elite in 201o, King is swiftly becoming a name to take note of. You can currently catch her in Dolce & Gabbana’s F/W 2011 ad campaign where she poses alongside big names Isabeli Fontana, Maryna Linchuk, Constance Jablonski, and Liu Wen.

In the print world she starred in editorials for AnOther, Dazed & Confused, LOVE, and was even profiled in Wonderland. Her brown hair and green eyes help her stand out from the crowd along with her skyscraper cheekbones. Could beauty campaigns be in King’s future? We’ll have to wait and see…

The edgy more youthful trendy sister line to high fashion house Dolce & Gabbana is permanently closing its doors. Following today’s Milan Fashion Week debut of D&G’s spring 2012 collection (shown here), it was announced designers Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana will not be continuing the line. This sexy collection has become known for their hot ad campaigns, which are packed with modeling’s most recognizable names. Each season after season D&G’s themed ads receive rave reviews. In the future we’re hoping to see more shine put on the namesake Dolce & Gabbana label. Although we’re guessing it was the over extension of licensing deals which fizzled out the excitement of D&G. The company was everywhere, making D&G everything, which (as we know) cheapens the overall “it” factor of a powerhouse label. Considering they had eyewear, watches, fragrances, jewelry, and a kids line, enough was enough. There’s only so much D&G we can stand to see on sale at Nordstom Rack.

Alas, D&G’s newest spring collection is being overshadowed by the news, however the designers are ending the brand in print-tacular world. A bevy of vibrant hues implanted on gaudy prints hit the catwalk; think flowing dresses, summer skirts, and gold chain accessories.

Discontinuing the line before they make news about their woes is most likely saving the company bad press and may even make those vintage D&G jeans in your closet more valuable. Whether you own any D&G or not, you may want to think about snagging some up. Even though the last collection is overloaded with prints, at least you know it’s a better investment than Missoni for Target.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana‘s flashy and glamorous designs are worn regularly by  A-listers such as Madonna, Uma Thurman, Olivia Wilde, and Jessica Alba to name a few, so the pair know a thing or two about looking and feeling sexy. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK the duo shared their tips and tricks of seduction for females to take note of.

1. Perfect your underpinnings
Sexiness is a matter of wearing the right underwear. Dolce says, ‘When we dress the model for a show, first we give them the bra, the satin, the lace. It’s all about respect for the body. You never see a woman from the south of Italy without a bra. Never!‘
2. Always add a heel
A Dolce woman always has a heel. Dolce says, ‘For me, it is impossible to see a woman in flat shoes’.
3. Play with androgyny, but remember you’re a woman
Gabbana says, ‘you don’t need to lose femininity by wearing a suit, the first thing I think is, “Is she wearing lace underwear?”.

4. Embrace underwear as outerwear
Gabbana says, ‘If you wear a corset, you lose one size. It puts everything up and it’s perfect. It corrects the shape’.
5. Walk tall
It is all in the way a woman carries herself à la Linda, Naomi, Gisele, Claudia and Eva – the supers who queued up to appear in Dolce & Gabbana shows over the years. Dolce says, ‘When you dress, it isn’t just the body that’s important. It’s the balance of mind and body. Tutto en equilibre!’
6. Be revealing, but always with confidence
Dolce says, ‘It’s not about the skin, it’s the mind. It’s about confidence, but also subtlety. Again, the relationship between mind and body is what’s most important’.
7. A defining feature can be truly sexy
Gabbana says, ‘Personally, I like women who are not perfect. For example, I love a woman with a real nose. A nose is character. Many women want to change their noses, but for me, I’m fascinated’.
8. Find what works for you and stick to it
Dolce says, ‘When a woman has her style, she knows how to choose what she likes, not what is trendy. When you love what you are wearing, the clothes are alive’.

This Saturday, Dolce & Gabbana have joined forces with the gorgeous David Gandy (who has been the face of the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue fragrance since 2007) for a series of events. And for all you that are contemplating actually heading to Milan, here’s a map:

Here is the schedule for Saturday, June 18:

2.00 pm – Metropol, viale Piave 24: SS 2012 Men’s Show.

4.30 pm – David Gandy will get into a vintage black Triumph and head to piazza Duomo.

5.00 pm – La Rinascente, piazza Duomo. Gandy will greet fans.

6.30 pm – Dolce & Gabbana Women’s Boutique. David will sign a limted edition of shirts (with a photo of himself by Mariano Vicanco) for fans as a part of the proceeds will go to the EUPLOOS Project.

9.00 pm – Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Boutique for the launch of the “David Gandy by Dolce & Gabbana” photography book which will be available for purchase. Hello, can you say perfect coffee table book?

Muscles, hard labor and camaraderie are all ways to describe the men of Dolce & Gabbana’s S/S ad campaign. The brand plucked a rugged bunch of guys for their black and white campaign which was shot by Steven Klein. We see some of our favorite men including Model Monday alum David Gandy, alongside Noah Mills, Sam Whitman, Travis Bland, Sam Web, Tony Ward and more.

The guys show off the clothes and their bodies while do some manual high fashion labor. This includes wrestling, pulling a rope, arm wrestling and moving large objects…whew! The only way these ads could be better is if there were shots of the men cleaning. The women’s collection follows this same black & white aesthetic for their campaign as well, but clearly it’s the guys we can’t get enough of in the office.

An image was recently released of Linchuk (and other models without makeup) making it easy to see why the natural beauty has remained so successful in the competitive industry. She has a look that can be diverse, but a face that stays beautiful.

We’re only about halfway 2011 and Linchuk has already been on two Vogue covers (Russia and Germany below) and you may recognize her in the latest S/S ads for Dolce & Gabbana. Here we see her along with modeling pals Izabel Goulart and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Browsing the latest issue of Vogue Hommes Paris, I couldn’t help but do a little double take the editorial titled “Pacific Skipper” shot by Jack Pierson…sure the backdrop is beautiful and the clothes are perfectly cool for the summer, but I would be lying if I said that the model wasn’t the first thing that caught my attention.

David Gandy is so good looking it hurts…just kidding, but seriously, he’s quite the eye candy which is why this heartthrob is this week’s “Model Monday” feature! Gandy originally got his first break in 2001 when he won a modeling contest. Since then, Gandy had graced several runways and is best known as the (gorgeous) face of Dolce & Gabbana‘s fragrance “Light Blue”, while also appearing in campaigns for 7 For All Mankind and Massimo Dutti as well as several editorials in i-D, V and Vogue.

I couldn’t help but notice that model Yulia Terentieva gets caged in…literally for Elle UK‘s latest editorial titled “Now You See Her”. Yulia is a bird, er model, who displays the clothes beautifully. From the large floppy hats, to the woven dresses to the intense leopard print dress by Dolce & Gabbana (which is my favorite) she makes the pieces look good. And with all the colors and the backround, the spread is just pretty to look at. I also absolutely love that makeup artist Robin Black matched Yulia’s lips to her nails done by manicurist Lisa Postma…super chic!

The pretty Delfine Bafort tranforms into a dainty and sensual ballerina for the latest issue of Russh magazine. Shot by Will Davidson, Balfort is crowded by dancers as she moves in ensembles such as a Dolce & Gabbana corset and a Herve Leger dress. What I love the most about the shoot though, is that it stays away from the color-blocking trend as Delfine’s ensembles are mainly in black or white.
