To sum up the looks, there’s a shirt with an abstract illustration of Rihanna’s face, two pair of jeans (one dark, one light), a rockin’ motorcycle jacket, and of course, a logo tee. Oh and let’s not forget the sexy little lace number, a navy blue bra and panty set that I’m sure ladies would like to have in their Christmas stocking. The pieces, which were made public today, will be in stores in time for holiday shoppers.

The question is, given Emporior Armani’s high price points, will Rihanna fans and customers shell out big bucks for the capsule collection? Or perhaps, they’ll be smart and wait until after Christmas to purchase the goods, which will most likely end up on sale? Would you purchase any of the items below?

Stylish duds and  haute ad campaigns have come to help define this member of the Armani family and 2011 marks the thirtieth year luxury line Emporio Armani has been in business. Elle magazine is celebrating this milestone, not with bright colors and flashy shoot, but instead by going all black for an editorial titled, “The Color of Night.” And yes, the shoot is literally just that. Shot by photographer Thomas Whiteside, the images are VERY dark and mysterious.

Stylist Kate Lanphear pulled an A-list noir cast of dark essentials for stunning brunette Egle Tvirbutaite, which will make you want to go over to the dark side. While classic black never goes out of style, I would’ve liked to have seen at least one crisp ivory piece make its way into the shoot. This is a celebration not a funeral after all.

With the recent debut of Armani Collezioni Cruise 2012 and Emporio Armani Resort 2012, I found myself asking, which of these two Armani collections do I like better? Clearly it’s easy to get your Armani’s confused, so if you don’t know the difference between the two lines, Collezioni is a high end sub-line with (very high) price points that falls below Giorgio Armani and tends to have a more formal feel. Emporio Armani (still out of most people’s price ranges) lies underneath Emporio and the line  specializes in ready-to-wear pieces.

Now lets get to the collections…

Next up we have Emporio Armani’s Resort looks which are much more youthful, while remaining sleek and practical. The Loose fitted pieces, soft colors and luxe fabrics (like silk) fall along the designer’s “City Oasis” theme for the collection.

I must say, Emporio Armani’s looks speak to me way more than Armani Collezioni…which do you prefer?

The soccer star doesn’t plan on being overshadowed by his designing wife in the fashion industry anytime soon. Remember when David Beckham (alongside Victoria) stripped down to model for Emporio Armani underwear? Well apparently that experience sparked something inside the athlete because news just broke that he’ll be releasing a “bodywear” line. “I have had the idea of doing a bodywear collection for some time now. The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani,” said Beckham.

Beckham continued to explain, “It’s not my natural inclination to see myself as a brand, I’m just a person who has been fortunate to explore other interests and passions outside of the game I love. I will always be associated with my sport but I am now working across other areas that will continue long after my career has finished.”

The image at the top represents Beckham’s new brand and image; the cutout circle in his name is supposed to stand for a soccer ball. This is the first image to surface from Beckham’s new design ventures and if his ad campaign is going to be anything like this shot, I’m guessing he’s going to try to sell clothes by not wearing any. Not a bad a idea, since he is known for his body and looks; but lets not forget he said “after my career has finished” this implies that he’s on the verge of retirement and we all know good looks and that hot body won’t last forever. My advice to Beckham on his new fashion endeavor? Don’t skimp on quality…just because your name and body are tagged on an item, doesn’t mean it’s going to sell.

The S/S 2010 ad campaign from Emporio Armani has us seeing double! The brand is making use of vivid hues and fun house-like cityscape backgrounds to engage consumers in their S/S collection. Is it working? We think so, the clothes don’t get lost in the busy backgrounds thanks to the bold poses. Photographer, Mario Sorrenti, clearly had this vision in mind when taking action shots of models, Anna Selezneva and Sean O’Pry.
