Luckily, a few weeks ago, I had the chance to check out “Art in the Streets”, an exhibition including 50 of the most the famous street artist such as Banksy. The event takes place at Los Angeles’ MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art). I was there for 2 whole hours and was surprised at how believably realist the installations were, which only meant that my eyes always found something new to stare at every minute.

I loved the vintage photos and neon prints, as well as, the artists’ ability to organize something so huge (such as all these different collaborators) into something so much simpler yet still relevant: “Art in the Streets.” And Paper magazine caught on to the exhibit’s coolness because their latest editorial was shot there!

Now, in their fourth initiative, The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has chosen Parsons The New School for Design to be the home of Fashion Campus NYC. Fashion Campus NYC is set to be an intensive weekend of workshops from July 15th-16th where attendees will have the chance to partake in various seminars and learn about all the different business aspects to New York City’s fashion. They have even tapped Parsons alum Derek Lam to give a keynote address at the event. Additionally, Parsons has educated generations of fashion designers, including Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Prabal Gurung and Proenza Schouler just to name a few.

How did you decide to start a blog? And where did the idea for it’s name come from?
I always took photos of my outfits in high school. It was kind of like a hobby. I would upload them online to share with friends on myspace, etc. Then I found out about blogspot in 2008 and started my own blog. My other fashion related hobby was making collages from old magazines. Now I can both blog about my outfits and collages online.

Are you a full-time blogger or do you have a 9-5?
I’m a full-time blogger. I do some freelance writing on the side part-time and styling as well.

First up is the beautiful Adele, who I simply cannot get enough of and who recently graced Elle’s May cover . Her first album, 19 was amazing and now her sophmotre album, 21 is sure to give you the chills with lyrics about love and losing it. My two favorite tracks are “Someone Like You” and “Rolling in the Deep”…Check out the remix of “Rolling in the Deep” by Villa that was a hit at NYFW shows such as Prabal Gurung’s and Rebecca Taylor’s. (Dare you to try and not dance to this one.)

Did you know that red-head Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine was the inspiration behind Gucci’s Fall 2011 collection? And Welch recently sang her hit “Dogs Days Are Over” at the Met Gala! Check out the video of her performance below!

Kings of Leon front man, Caleb Followill just tied the knot to Victoria Secret Angel Lily Alridge but that doens’t mean you can’t enjoy their latest album Come Around Sundown.

And last, but certainly not least is NickI Minaj (and her multiple personalities). Her verses are just as fierce and funky as her crazy outfits. I’m currently obsessed with her latest single “Super Bass” which is about crushing on that special someone. Check the video out down below!

When it comes to high fashion labels and Resort collections, designers either get it or they don’t. There’s a fine line between being too uptight (see Chanel) or just too casual (see Just Cavalli). Celebrating it’s 90th anniversary this year, Gucci‘s Frida Giannini nailed it! According to WWD, Giannini created a “resort collection that paid homage to the chic and glamorous jet set that has contributed to the company’s success over the years.” It’s easy to say that I like everything about the collection. The simple palette consisted of sheer lightweight fl0wly feminine pieces in white, black, white, soft yellow, deep gold paired with accessories in animal prints such as snakeskin and zebra. I think what made Gucci this time around was Giannini’s ability to balance simplicity and chicness with subtle coolness.

As if grocery shopping wasn’t difficult and pricey enough; I always go in with a set list and come out with a cart full of goods…but then again, I guess the same can be said of shopping…whether it be online or in actual life, I always end up buying more than planned (I know, it’s a problem).

And now Gilt Groupe (which was just valued at $1 billion) is doing what they do best in terms of sales and retail but for foodies. They just launched their beta version of Gilt Taste, the food version of GG. Eater spoke to Ruth Reichl, the editorial advisor, who says the site is an online marketplace/interactive magazine. Reichl also wrote of Gilt Taste, “We don’t just want to sell you great products—we want to tell you the stories of the people who create them and inspire you with delicious new ways to use them.” Additionally the site plans to be not only a destination for purchasing goods, but also a means on inspiration and the contributors list is said to be enormous.

With the Lady-Gaga themed Gilt Sale going live today, We wonder if she would ever partner up with Gilt Taste…and more importantly, what would she recommend to users food-wise?

On that note, who says food and fashion don’t go together after all?

It’s no secret that women are serious shoppers, and this article from the Guardian UK dives into the extent that us girls love clothes. The fact that women try on 21,000 items of clothing over a lifetime is pretty staggering. “On average, women hit the shops four times a month and disappear into the changing rooms with ten tops, pairs of jeans, dresses or shoes on each trip. Sue Beck of Lambrini, which carried out the research, said: “For many women, trying on different clothes is often the best part of a shopping trip.” reports the Guardian UK.

While this research isn’t going to change the way we shop, it does give us something extra to think on our trip to the fitting room.
