The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is like a lingerie party on steroids. It’s laid out like a typical fashion show, but goes wild with a glittered catwalk, models wearing next to nothing, and extreme winged creations. Celebrities, rock stars, editors, and bloggers all flock to the fantasy world VS creates. This year proved to be even more over the top than ever!

Even though the show doesn’t air until November 29th, we found ourselves entranced by all the dramatic and colorful lingerie. For a fashion show, there’s not much clothing, but there’s a TON of creativity and model crushes. We’re so proud of darling Karlie Kloss (bottom right), who walked in her first show. Meanwhile, Miranda Kerr (bottom left) is no stranger to the glitz and was given the coveted position of sporting a $2.5 million bra. Yowza! The sexy Doutzen Kroes wow’d the crowd after giving birth just a mere nine months ago. Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio (top) of course show’d all the girls how its done! And everyone let out an “aww” when singer Adam Levine (below) escorted his real life love, Anne Vyalitsyna down the catwalk as he sang. He wasn’t the only one behind the mic, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West (with a surprise appearance by Jay-Z) all had their turn. Of course, in true Victoria’s Secret fashion it was the models who came out on top and celebrated with a confetti-filled finale on the catwalk.

The lingerie themes for this year’s show included superhero styled designs, dramatic dark pieces, and under the sea, and ended with a disco PINK party! Experience the fun before the air date by browsing our image gallery below.

Karlie Kloss, Anja Rubik, Chanel Iman, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Jourdan Dunn, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Eniko Mihalik, Kendra Spears, Anais Mali, Mirte Maas, and more all strutted down the catwalk in the odd array of attire which made up Kanye’s collection.

If this were Project Runway, Heidi would definitley be saying “auf wiedersehen” to the rapper-turned-deisnger, as his collection seemed to lack a comprehensive vision. Many pieces were oversized so exaggerated that they look unwearable.  In one look there’s a nude cutout bandage, another fur, and another includes some sort of hood with teeth. Then poor Eniko Mihalik’s boobs don’t look appealing at all in a very little black dress, while Chanel Iman wears an ivory and off-white jacket with pants that look like they’re falling off the petite model. It all just feels a tad bizarre and lost.

This was West’s first attempt at designing and he had access to some of the best fashionable minds in the world (including Central Saint Martins professor Louis Wilson) and even that couldn’t save him. Then again, just because he met with intelligent minds, doesn’t mean he listened to them…we’ve all heard Kanye can have a bit of an ego… At least he puts his money where his mouth is?

On the bright side, the strappy heels were pretty cute!  What do you think of Kanye West’s first attempt at designing?

Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion king of unpredictable collaborations (Diet Coke, Macy’s), can now add music video director to his resume. While in St. Tropez the designer filmed a clip of Jean-Roch for his upcoming single which pays homage to the resort town and features hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg.

While Lagerfeld hasn’t work directly with Snoop yet, this collaboration could make him part of the dogg pound posse. Ahhh…I wonder if they’ll sip on some gin & juice together? This isn’t Lagerfeld’s first foray into the rap scene either, he already shot Kanye West’s “money mouth” for V Man. Not to mention rapper Kanye loovvveeees fashion! He practically takes over fashion week, err, month by storm as he can be spotted everywhere from New York to Paris.

Looks like fashion loves to be gangsta just as much as rappers like fashion…It’s a beautiful cycle!

And so I have excitedly been anticipating the arrival of W magazine’s annual “music issue”…yes, the one with a very fierce and fantastic Beyonce (or is it her alter ego Sasha Fierce?) on the cover. My favorite editorial within the issue, hands down is the “Behind the Muses” spread which features designers and the musicians who inspire them. All images were shot by Max Vadukul. How visually stunning is the one below of Florence Welch and Frida Giannini?

They say it’s an honor just to be nominated, but in the case of the CFDA awards it’s a pretty big honor just to attend. Aside from the Met Gala, this is one of the biggest night’s in fashion and we of course had to cover all of the Trova toting winners and honorees along with the arrivals.

Stand out fashions included Miranda Kerr’s cutout Michael Kors dress, Daphne Guinness and her head piece, Diane von Furstenberg‘s ivory mirrored dress, and then of course there’s Lady Gaga in a piece by Nicola Formichetti. Kanye West showed up in acid wash jeans and a white blazer looking surprisingly casual, while having one designer on crutches didn’t stop the rag & bone boys from arriving together.

Many popular men’s publications only come out twice a year, so when their issues make their way to MyFDB’s office, it’s quite exciting! I know a few girls who let out a squeal when James Franco‘s covers for Vogue Hommes Paris and GQ Style UK showed up (even though Franco’s overdramatic). Kanye West literally put his money  where his mouth is for his V Man shoot, while Sir Elton John partied with Pop. I loved seeing Tom Ford yelling on Another Man‘s cover, while Inglorious Bastards star Christoph Waltz took leopard seriously for GQ Style Germany.

Which cover man are you most excited for?

Besides “egg”cellent McQueen pieces, last night’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art brought out troves of fashion’s elite. It was one of those events where literally everyone who was anyone was there (including MyFDB CEO, Keith Britton). The red carpet steps leading up to the Met were swarming with photogs scrambling to get that perfect shot of these elaborate gowns.

This is one of the few events where you’ll find a mixed crowd of fashion editors, celebrities, designers, and models. The diversity of the attendees makes the evening that much more spectacular. Not to mention the speculation and intrigue over who wore what. I doubt anyone could’ve predicted Kanye West walking the red carpet in a Tory Burch tux with the designer. The musical Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine) made her arrival with YSL designer Stefano Pilati and later preformed for guests. Meanwhile, Janelle Monae‘s Chanel get up, complete with top hat, was too cute. Many beauties actually found themselves matching the carpet as red turned out to be the  popular shade of the evening. Doutzen Kroes (Giambattista Valli), Lara Stone (Calvin Klein Collection), Gisele Bundchen (Alexander McQueen), J. Lo (Gucci), and Bee Shaffer (Balenciaga) all shined in a version of the hue. Opting for brighter gowns Anna Wintour (in colorblocked Chanel Couture),  Zoe Saldana (yellow Calvin Klein Collection), Rosie Huntington-Whitley (pink Burberry) all boldly stood out from the crowd.

There really were so many incredible gowns that it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite, therefore we pulled shots of the ones that got us talking the most for you to peruse.

Yes, you heard right, Alexander Wang will be at Coachella. Apparently the designer is a regular at the event and he’s looking for some inspiration while he takes in all the musical festivities. Plus, I think spotting Wang at Coachella would be the ultimate street style shot!

Wang recently talked about his Coachella adventures to Fashionologie,

Are you going on these big trips for inspiration hunting?
Yes, I’m going to Coachella . . . my yearly retreat. I’m going with friends, four of us. We’re renting a house for the first time, actually — I usually stay at a hotel. I stayed at the Ace [Hotel in Palm Springs] the first time, and that was so far [away from the festival], and then I stayed at another hotel last year. This year we were like, we’re going to rent a house so we can play music at night when we get back and not have people complaining about it, so, yeah.

Anyone you’re really looking forward to seeing at Coachella?
Yeah, Kanye’s headlining, so I’m really excited, and Lauryn Hill’s going to be there. I don’t know, I feel like I always . . . I don’t really care who’s performing, I’m always just like: for the experience, I want to go, and then when I get there I plan out my day . . . you know, see who’s going on. But just those two [alone], it’s worth going for.

I never knew Wang was Kanye West fan, but with Kanye being such a fashion week staple, it totally  makes sense. Kanye already got shot by Karl Lagerfeld, so I wonder if a collab with Wang is next? I also wonder if the designer will opt for white clothes instead of his signature structured black pieces? After all, I hear it gets pretty hot in the desert.

The fast talking, occasionally controversial and always stylish, Kanye West takes to the cover of V Man to literally put his money where his mouth is. The artist posed for the magazine’s spring issue in the perfectly titled, “No Risk, No Reward” editorial. Kanye rocked a black Lanvin jacked, Balenciaga pants, and a white Dior Homme tee pulled by stylist, Jacob K.

I’m honestly kind of bored with his play-it-safe black suit look, but what really grabbed my attention was that this cover look was shot by Karl Lagerfeld! Seems kind of random right? Lagerfeld, who has shot for V in the past, always finds ways for us to expect the unexpected from him. I definitely wouldn’t have put Kanye & Lagerfeld together, but the rapper’s love for fashion and the photographer’s creative mind merge together well in this shoot. I really love the contrast between the light outline around Kanye and the darkness of the clothes and background.

There seems to be a lot of fashion worthies who can and do year after year! On top of the music scene, there is always a lot to look forward to fashion/wardrobe-choice wise. The festival screams for Cali-boho chic in the form of shredded shorts, crop tops, floppy hats, oversized glasses (the bigger the better) and the perfect pair of sandals. Coachella often welcomes some of our favorite fashionistas (see Kate Bosworth, Nicole Richie, Chloe Sevigny, Drew Barrymore, Whitney Port, Katy Perry and the list goes on…) so I can’t help but wonder…WHAT WILL THEY WEAR!?
