The talented actress turned major fashionista turned jewelry designer for JewelMint with friend Cher Coulter (remember our snazzy interview with the duo?) has now become a singer… Well, not with a record deal or anything (just yet), but instead pretty and doe-eyed Bosworth lends her soothing voice to the ads for Cotton. The actress follows the former faces and voices of Zooey Deschanel and Colbie Caillat. What do you think of the ad and more so, Bosworth’s singing skills?

A girl’s hair is probably the most important part of her look. Not to mention a bad hair day can totally ruin a look and sour our mood. Starlettes always have hair on the brain and when they change things up or keep their look simple we all take notice- even if we don’t want to. A new hair trend sweeping Hollywood is turning actresses from slobs to lobs…yes, seriously.

The likes of Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba, Olivia Palmero, Kirsten Dunst, Sofia Coppola and more have adopted the do. Oh, if you’re not up on your lob lingo, a lob is the nickname for a long bob. Even though the name sounds silly, it’s actually a practical and easy-to-manage hairstyle- hence its popularity.

Hair stylist Neil Moodie recently said why he thinks the lob is the new “it” do, “The long bob is a great way of having a bob without committing to having your hair too short. There’s something so chic about hair that’s completely all one length without any layers, which in turn means light reflects much better so the hair looks ultra-glossy.”

I do heart my long locks, but I enjoy having layers and bangs as opposed to staying simply straight. Although, my favorite lob-er of all has to be Kate Bosworth, she has gorgeous golden tresses!

I know one of my fashion resolutions for 2011 was to wear less black and more color but when you have a closet like mine (where about 60% of the items are black) it can be quite the challenge. As we know, color and color-blocking is all the rage for the Spring season and after seeing InStyle‘s editorial titled “Mad About Color” I really want to get bright…and bold! The editorial shot by Giampaolo Sgura features model Liya Kebede rocking the most colorful of Jil Sander duds! My favorite of course, is the pink skirt below which was seen on the lovely Kate Bosworth (but in mint green) at the Style Awards a few months ago …And no wonder the shoot was so fun looking, it was styled by none other than Brad Goreski, a MyFDB favorite!

It’s a bittersweet day here in New York as we bid adieu to fashion week until September. With the sun shinning and the weather unusually warm, I headed to the final show on MyFDB’s agenda: Calvin Klein‘s women’s wear collection designed by creative director, Francisco Costa. With the CK men’s show being a huge hit, I was excited to find out what was in store for their female customers this fall.

Upon arrival, paparazzi was already swarming in anticipation of celebrity arrivals: Zoe Saldana, Kate Bosworth, and Kerry Washington. Photographers had a real field day inside because the trio was seated together front row. While waiting to get in the venue, I spotted a sleuth of fashion’s heavy hitters making their way to builing including: Grace Coddington, Anna Dello Russo, Joe Zee, Terry Richardson, Andre Leon Talley, and Georgia May Jagger (who were seated together).

Once the show commenced the audience was treated to grey dresses, which had a bit of a youthful appeal with detailing around the collar. The collection progressed to showcase stone technical silk satin pieces that carried a shine to them. Keeping in true Calvin Klein fashion, each piece was structured perfectly for their modern consumer. I also swooned over alpaca fur, metallic pieces in gold, and multiple black silk items. I felt like there was a bit of mystery with Francisco Costa’s designs, especially with the large textured coats which are perfect for hiding a seductive metallic dress underneath. Mystery and surprise is how I’d sum up this collection- conservative and stylish garments mixed with more form-fitting and attention getting pieces.

Models spotted working the Calvin Klein included: Arizona Muse, Lara Stone, Nimue Smit, Mirte Maas, Kasia Wrobel, Juju Ivanyuk, and Merethe Hopland to name a few.

American beauty, Kate Bosworth continues to have a stellar acting career and recently added jewelry designer to her never ending resume. The leading lady graces the January cover of Lucky magazine rocking pieces from her line, JewelMint, which she co-created with celebrity stylist and friend, Cher Coulter.

JewelMint is probably one of the coolest, along with reasonably priced, celebrity jewelry lines out there. Users of the JewelMint website create a style profile based on a quiz. They are then presented accessory matches according to their quiz answers- best of all each piece of jewelry is only $30. This is a monthly subscriptions site, so users receive a new piece of jewelry each month. Not too shabby, considering how expensive trendy pieces can be. Let’s not forget Bosworth is known for her style, so her JewelMint designs perfectly compliment the elegant red carpet aesthetic she’s known for.
