The Pirelli Calendar has become one of fashions most interesting traditions, each year a major photographer goes off and captures models and muses who pose nude for the calendar. Last year Karl Lagerfeld had the honor and for 2012 it’s Mario Sorrenti. The photographer captured beautiful artistic nude shots of models Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fontana, Milla Jovovich, Guinevere Van Seenus, Saskia de Brauw, Malgosia Bela, Edita Vilkeviciute, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

Interesting tid bit, Sorrenti and Moss used to date, but this shoot was all platonic as Moss is now married. The shoot actually took place back in May, but with the anticipation of the new year upon us, the images have just made their way onto the web. An interactive online component has been added this year, where a subscriber can pick and choose the models he wants to appear. For instance, if someone doesn’t want to part with Lara Stone, they can opt to continue to have her image up. Subscribers are given a login to access to the exclusive features on the Pirelli Calendar website.

The girls are shot primarily in black and white and the images are nothing short of incredible photographic artwork. Confession, we spent awhile ogling them too!

Oh no big deal, it’s just Kate Moss closing the Marc Jacobs designed Louis Vuitton show by stepping off of a moving carousel. We adore the showmanship of the fashion shows abroad, but an actual carousel is taking the cake this season! With a dramatic reveal to the crowd, the children’s ride transformed into a model ride as Vuitton’s spring 2012 collection made its way onto the circular catwalk. There were 48 white horses, one for each of Jacobs’ 48 looks. After last season’s smokin’ show with Moss, he lightened things up with a dash of innocence for spring. Although, we were surprised to hear the supermodel requested to walk in the show and not vice versa. “She asked to be in the show,” the designer said backstage at Louis Vuitton, “and she’s a very dear friend so…happy to oblige.”

Parading off of the horses were models clad in dresses with daisy motifs adorned with feathers in an array pastel hues. Accessory wise, a few models toted open parasols and handbags showed off a sweeter side with their signature LV design. Lastly, shoes were appeared to all have a casual heel, while some had clear and metal materials blocked together. The visually stunning set made the looks feel that much more special.

If there’s two things we know it’s that fashion and Freja go hand in hand, so kudos to Vogue British for their cover.

Christina Ricci has been making a major comeback in the style scene and this print heavy wide-eyed Nylon cover suits her (and the mag) well.

Tongue out and ice cream in her eye, Lindsey Wixson and i-D magazine aren’t taking fall fashion so seriously, they’re having fun, which we’re big fans of!

Now we’re not huge fans of Twilight at MyFDB, but there’s no denying how captivating Kristen Stewart appears in this glamorously seductive cover for W.

Beyonce gracing the cover of Bazaar? Yes, and she works wonders in front of photog Alexi Lubomirski.

Blushing model bride Kate Moss on the cover of US Vogue…enough said. The magazine practically sells itself.

Worst Covers

Jessica Alba is a doll in an LBD, but Lucky‘s pink text is completely overshadowing the actress.

The same issue is found on GQ British‘s September cover. More Bar Refaeli, less words.

Numero‘s black and white cover looks great, it’s just at tad overcrowded with five models being featured.

Muse‘s cover shot, which is normally more artistic and fashion forward, feels a bit cheesy by placing the words “Full On!” above Doutzen Kroes‘ cleavage.

We’re on the fence about GQ Italia‘s cover. We like seeing Rooney Mara promote her character in “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”, but we’d also like to see the actress’ natural beauty.

Town & Country? Although, we are Hemingway fans, this magazine is still around and we’re not sure why.

I’m sure you’ve all seen the movie The September Issue, which skyrocketed Anna Wintour to even greater heights and put the making of a magazine’s biggest annual issue on camera. So we wanted to show off some of the Sept covers which have made their way into the office. There’s the highly anticipated shot of newlywed Kate Moss in Vogue, Beyonce covering InStyle, and Gwyenth Paltrow gracing Elle‘s cover. Not to mention the haute shots in the gallery below. Ooooh bring on the sibling rivalry! Could Kate Moss‘ younger sister Charlotte, also known as Lottie, be the next Kate Moss? At just the age of 13, she is already stirring up conversation in the modeling industry after appearing as one of the 15 bridesmaids from Kate’s wedding last week. And why not? If supermodel Kate is planning to settle down after marriage, perhaps her sister will follow in her footsteps? We will all have to wait for at least another year to see if that’s the case as Lottie’s mother will let her make the decision when she turns 14.

And if it’s all about timing then maybe it’s the best choice as Lottie is just a year younger than her sister Kate when she was discovered.

While we’re gearing up for a three day weekend in the states, Kate Moss is causing a media circus in her hometown of Cotswolds, a normally quite English village, as everyone is excitedly awaiting the arrival of guests for her marriage (taking place today) to Jamie Hince, The Kills guitarist. Moss never revealed much about her wedding in hopes of keeping her date and location a secret… Well, shutting down roads and erecting wedding facilities in your neighborhood is a pretty big giveaway, so the secret’s out in a big way! Prior to their rehersal dinner, the couple posed outside The Swan Pub (above) and from there the media circus and wedding speculations have begun!

The nuptials are going to be filled with Moss’ chums who, to us, are known as fashion’s heavy hitters. She’s set to wed in a John Galliano designed gown and rumors are swirling that the designer will attend the wedding (at least someone in the industry still likes him). The coveted chief bridesmaid position (UK’s maid of honor equivalent) goes to her eight-year-old daughter Lila Grace (from her relationship with Jefferson Hack). Fashion photographer and friend Mario Testino is turning into a wedding photog to capture the bride throughout the event.  Other celebrity friends potentially on the guest list include, Naomi Campbell, Jude Law, Jade Jagger, Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, and even street artist Banksy to name a few.

One wedding guest revealed some of Kate’s wild plans for the far from traditional festivities. He (or she) said, “Kate has hired a small team of transvestites to chaperone guests to the toilets and back to their seats. Most of them will be 6′ 5″ in their heels. She’s also having naked musclemen with fake tattoos on their backs and chests of Kate and Jamie’s names and faces. Kate’s hoping guests will have pictures with them.”

Word is also out that Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, and Beth Ditto will all perform…talk about a p-a-r-t-y! Moss is expected to have three days worth of grand celebrations, which have been nicknamed “Moss-stock” by local residents. But don’t even think about crashing, because the model erected a huge fence around her property and has practically shut down her town in an attempt to banish intruders.

I’m all for “interesting” but Industrie‘s latest editorial “Mert & Marcus By Mert & Marcus” is just…well, weird? Shot by the talented duo (yes, you guessed it, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott), the spread features some great “self-portrait” like shots of the team as well as some very intimate shots of a naked Kate Moss. But Kate Moss isn’t the only one baring it all because actually the majority of the models in the shoot are sans clothes.

I love how provocative the images are but there really isn’t much of a theme going on within the editorial. I mean, black & white photos of Mert and Marcus, a naked Kate Moss with a cigarette and then even more naked models but in color all shot by the duo…Hmmm. Interesting.

Since we already brought you the top men’s magazine covers for May, we couldn’t end the month without featuring our favorite cover ladies. From across the globe we’ve gathered our top six standout covers that’ll make you want to flip to the next page.

Carey Mulligan slicks back her hair for Elle UK‘s cover while Reese Witherspoon‘s subtly seduces Vogue readers with her eyes. Kate Moss shows that she’s one to kiss and model with Vogue Brasil and for Vogue British we meet up with the wedding-ready Lara Stone. January Jones gets rugged for W‘s cover and lastly singer Adele gives the normally lively Elle mag a serious tone.

First Mario Testino got her naked for the cover of Vogue Brasil, now Kate Moss has a bunch of grabby hands on her for Vogue Paris. Photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured the bombshell as some muscular male hands tried to peel off her clothes… Four of the arms look like they actually could rip her jacket off, but I think that bottom hand just wanted to cop a feel.

Moving to the editorial that follows inside the mag entitled “Haute Couture,” Moss is put in some very interesting looks. Judging from the cover, you’d think she’d be teasing us with nudity in her shoot, but instead the editorial makes her look like she’s experiencing an identity crisis. She starts with a pink mushroom headed bob, then her looks turn more glam before she pops up with a mohawk and ends the shoot in a space swimsuit.

I don’t know which Kate I like better: pink mushroom haired Kate or space swimsuit Kate?
