If you weren’t already 100 percent positive that Lady Gaga is the most famous woman in

the world, check out her most recent column in V Magazine. In the latest issue the multiplatinum star

did not actually write anything for her piece. She had others do it for her; and in true Lady Gaga

fashion, her contributing authors are show stopping.

Writing about their personal experiences collaborating with Gaga, top designers Giorgio

Armani, Manish Arora of Paco Rabanne and Karl Lagerfeld shared their notes with V Magazine on

the infamous singer. The final product is some truly remarkable insight into not only Gaga

but the designers and their collaborative process as well!

Here’s what the three designers had to say about Gaga:

Giorgio Armani:

“It is always stimulating to work with Lady Gaga because it allows my imagination to

roam freely in order to create genuinely theatrical stage costumes, as was the case on this

occasion. Lady Gaga is an artist with a huge personality and amazing stage presence. I

was attracted by her genuine interest in fashion and design, which she projects with a

conviction that knows no limits- and which she definitely considers a vital ingredient of

her career.”

Paco Rabanne’s Manish Arora:

“Daring. Far beyond fashion and beauty, Gaga’s style is unpredictable, iconoclastic yet

iconic and out of time. She is now and tomorrow, between fantasy and reality… She is a

statement of recreating, a piece of art.”

Karl Lagerfeld:

“Gaga gives the world her music and her talent, but the thing I like most is that she fights

against boredom and banality. She also puts forth an ever changing, inspiring, and strong

image- an image beyond fashion. She is an extreme concentrate of “zeitgeist,” freeing us

from the heavy boredom of publicly displayed political correctness by being herself more

than politically correct. Something in today’s world would be missed if there would be no

Lady Gaga because Gaga is a Lady.”

Worst Covers

Seriously what was Esquire thinking when they decided to put Justin Timberlake around blazing wild flames? This is bad on so many levels.

Tavi is a pint sized fashion blogger, not a model and we’re not sure why L’Officiel insists putting her on their cover…again.

Glamour is all about sisterhood with Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, and Alicia Keys taking over. Unfortunately, the cover feels crowded and blah-oring (that’s when you mix blah and boring).

Gerard Butler is an amazing actor and a cool guy (he even goes to fashion week), but LA Confidential made him look lame, especially when they captured a shot of him laughing then included the phrase, “Hollywood’s sexiest leading man has the last laugh.” Yes, we get why you chose that photo now.

Sorry Rachel Weisz, your Lucky magazine cover appears to be extremely posed and you’re being overshadowed by “free stuff.”

We’re excited Michelle Williams will be playing Marilyn Monroe in an upcoming film, we don’t love that this Vogue cover is basically an ad for the flick.

Seeing what Lady Gaga actually looks like on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar is refreshingly beautiful.

Packing a pink punch, Katy Perry rocked the cover of InStyle shot by Jenny Gage!

A new Olsen sister is becoming the apple of our fashion eye thanks to her Nylon cover. More Elizabeth Olsen please?

We adore seeing the face of a voice that’s always in our heads, Adele and her bombshell beauty elegantly swept the cover of Vogue British.

Meanwhile, GQ British featured the legendary Keith Richards and you can see the rock wisdom in his eyes.

Having more fun this time, we see Justin Timberlake alongside Amanda Seyfried go patriotic for the cover of W.

For better or worse, which covers left an impression on you this month?

Usually outfitted in wild outfits, elaborate makeup, and sometimes and extra head or two, it’s amazing to see Lady Gaga shed her theatrical skin for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar. The performer posed bare face sans makeup and zany costumes for an intimate peek at what she actually looks like. Believe it or not, the singer appears normal and could easily blend in with a crowd off the street. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the au natural look suits her well and it’s something I wish we could see more of. Her talent (and she actually does have talent) is often overshadowed by her larger than life character.

Oh and the title of this shoot? Simply put: “The Real Lady Gaga.”

First of all, it’s usually Lady Gaga who gets people talking- which she did- but Nicki Minaj was screaming for attention with perplexing outfit. I’m not sure if I’d categorize it as a dress, because it looks more like a bunch of random things sewed together. Oh, and that’s not a man standing next to pink princes Katy Perry, it’s Lady Gaga who surprised everyone with an androgynous look for the evening.

Then there was Beyonce, who let the world know she had a bun in the oven by rubbing her belly. Also, Miley Cyrus looked a little blah in her floral/leopard number (two prints which should never combine). At least her brother didn’t dress her in his tacky clothes. Justin Bieber was there too, proudly wearing a YSL blazer (which I think is from the ladies department).

After ogling over Lady Gaga on MyFDB, I realized you can see her style progression from the earlier images on our site. She used to be considered “out there” and lately she’s taken her look to a whole new level with outlandish outfits and photoshoots which we love, but it’s crazy to think back to the days when she was a bleach blonde newbie. With this being the summer of Gaga (see her Verasce outfits, CFDA style, and beating Oprah), now is the perfect time to highlight some of her most popular recent images on MyFDB.

Here she is looking happy and wise with grey locks in her latest shoot for i-D magazine’s summer 2011 “Summer Solstice” editorial. She doesn’t appear in any zany outfits and there’s something so lovely about her seemingly innocent smile.

Moving onto the Gaga we all know and love, shot by Terry Richardson for Harper’s Bazaar‘s May 2011 issue, this “Going GAGA” shoot features the pop star in eye-shot settings with “interesting” props. Macaroons anyone?

After seeing the images above, it’s hard to believe the beach blonde babe below is the same woman. This is Gaga back in 2009 shooting with V magazine, note she only has one head and her outfit is hardly considered bizarre…She’s almost (dare I say?) normal looking.

It’s no secret I’m a huge Miranda Kerr fan. She successfully made the transition into high fashion editorials, while also becoming a mother and somehow strutting down the runway just seven days after giving birth, looking even better than before. It seems that Kerr isn’t stopping anytime soon. Sources say that Kerr is set to be the guest editor for the Body & Soul pages of the Sunday Telegraph on September 18th. I couldn’t think of a better editor for this section of the publication given she is very health conscious and even has her own organic skincare line (Kora Organics by Miranda Kerr).

So what is this angel’s thoughts on the new venture? Kerr said, “If you have love, first of all love and appreciation for yourself, then you are going to eat healthily and you are going to take care of yourself and exercise. When you do that, you can give so much love to other people because you have the energy to give. That’s what gives me a healthy body and a healthy soul.”  I couldn’t agree more!

Kudos once again to Kerr…we’re sure she will do better in the editorial world in comparison to Paris Hilton…maybe even Lady Gaga.

MAC, known for constantly pushing the boundaries of cosmetics, have done it once again! Can’t wait to see what the ads will look like!

Rumor has it that Lady Gaga will only be wearing Versace for the next two months. While, I really doubt that’s the case the singer is rocking an archived vintage piece from the high fashion house in her newest music video for her track Edge of Glory.

This isn’t just any dress she’s wearing in the video either, it’s exclusively from Versace’s official archive, which Donatella Versace personally opened up for Gaga for the first time since the passing of her brother Gianni in ’97. The video itself shows off Gaga expressively dancing around a city street and a fire escape and this dress isn’t much of a ‘dress’ at all, it’s more like very bondage-like leather piece.

Donatella released a statement to the media about Versace dressing Gaga, “I am greatly honored that Lady Gaga chose to wear a Versace Vintage look throughout her Edge of Glory video. I am a great fan of hers and I believe that my brother Gianni would have appreciated her talent. Like him, Lady Gaga is unafraid to push boundaries and she has created an original vocabulary by merging fashion, music, theatre and art. For me, this video represents a wonderful tribute to anyone who is unafraid to take chances.”

Considering Gaga is typically team Mugler (she is BFF with designer Nicola Formichetti), I wonder how close her and Donatella really are? Or if this is just a play to get Versace’s name at the forefront of the media again? Whatever the case may be, any fashion house Gaga supports will be followed by love from her monsters (that’s what her fans are called).

They say it’s an honor just to be nominated, but in the case of the CFDA awards it’s a pretty big honor just to attend. Aside from the Met Gala, this is one of the biggest night’s in fashion and we of course had to cover all of the Trova toting winners and honorees along with the arrivals.

Stand out fashions included Miranda Kerr’s cutout Michael Kors dress, Daphne Guinness and her head piece, Diane von Furstenberg‘s ivory mirrored dress, and then of course there’s Lady Gaga in a piece by Nicola Formichetti. Kanye West showed up in acid wash jeans and a white blazer looking surprisingly casual, while having one designer on crutches didn’t stop the rag & bone boys from arriving together.
