The ads are just as lively and fun as the video created to promote it. Now we know what it’s like to be a high fashion model and dance to Pitbull, all whilst wearing insanely fabulous attire. Thank you Alber Elbaz and props on your mad dance skills. We like a designer who has talent and can cut a rug! Models Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann aren’t so bad either. Photographer Steven Meisel captured all of the dancing action for the campaign.

Tom Ford

The man can do no wrong. High contrast images with sexual understones are pretty much always a win. Jon Kortajarena is complimented with the stunning Candice Swanepoel, who’s red lips look like they could eat him up. Ford’s campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Mulberry

Going off into the wilderness proved to be a step in the right direction for the brand. Their mixed media images encompassed wildlife, and the current collection made for a foxy combination. What got our attention even more was the video they released alongside the ad campaign– all very trippy. The campaign was photographed by Tim Walker and featured models Tatiana Cotliar and Julia Saner.

Giorgio Armani

This high fashion brand went from lackluster to glamorous with their F/W campaign. A red lipped Sasha Pivovarova lights up the clothes in front of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. We can’t get over the glamour and drama combined in the campaign, a major upgrade for the line.

Alexander McQueen

Superhero powers and haute fashions combine to make this stellar ad campaign which feels out of this world! The current face of McQueen, Raquel Zimmermann is literally exploding in the dark & stormy shots. Captured by David Sims, the images and ads actually lived up to their viral hype thanks to digital artist Aaron Parsons.

Miu Miu

Young and petite actress Haliee Steinfeld revealed her “True (modeling) Grit” for this campaign. The actress proved she can be high fashion, while still remaining age appropriate by eating pizza and lounging with glittered heels. With a captivating range of emotion this campaign shot by Bruce Weber is one for the history books.

Jimmy Choo

Sex sells (something we all know), but Choo does it in moderation while keeping it’s well-heeled class. The shoe brand promotes their bags and footwear in a campaign full of sexual undertones without showing too much skin. Instead, it’s all about the leg, err, rather foot in this case. Models Raquel Zimmermann and Ben Hill put on a show for photog Steven Meisel.

Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion king of unpredictable collaborations (Diet Coke, Macy’s), can now add music video director to his resume. While in St. Tropez the designer filmed a clip of Jean-Roch for his upcoming single which pays homage to the resort town and features hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg.

While Lagerfeld hasn’t work directly with Snoop yet, this collaboration could make him part of the dogg pound posse. Ahhh…I wonder if they’ll sip on some gin & juice together? This isn’t Lagerfeld’s first foray into the rap scene either, he already shot Kanye West’s “money mouth” for V Man. Not to mention rapper Kanye loovvveeees fashion! He practically takes over fashion week, err, month by storm as he can be spotted everywhere from New York to Paris.

Next, there’s something so endearing about about a seeing a grown man get his groove on to the sound of Pitbull. That’s exactly what Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz does in his new fall campaign video featuring models Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann. Elbaz makes a cameo towards the end with choreographed moves (and some freestyle) to Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me“.

Looks like fashion loves to be gangsta just as much as rappers like fashion…It’s a beautiful cycle!

Actress Zoe Saldana and one of the MyFDB founders (who recently spoke to Forbes) rocks the August cover of Flaunt magazine, looking in true Saldana form equally sexy and beautiful in a nude number with red nails and accessories that pop! Shot by Yu Tsai, Zoe rocked items by Chanel, Balmain, and Lanvin. The shoot comes in perfect timing with the the release of her next film “Colombiana” out August 26th. Saldana plays Cataleya Restrepo, who as a young child witnessed the murder of her parents in Bogotá. It’s at that point she decides she wants to become an assassin. Cat is taken in by her uncle, Emilio Restrepo who she works for as a professional killer seeking (beautiful) revenge.

Lanvin‘s children’s collection has been released! What do you think of high fashion dresses for tiny tots?

Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz‘s last birthday involved hanging out in his hotel room alone and then cleaning up a cake he dropped on the floor gifted to him by the hotel he was staying at. After news circulated about his very unfestive day, measures were taken to ensure his fiftieth would be one to remember. Last night Elbaz was surprised by friends with a swanky party and thanks to Joe Zee’s tweets we got a glimpse of the event. The highlight of the night, besides the guest of honor, was a woman jumping out of a cake and considering it was a fashion crowd, cakes are much more fun to jump out of than eat.

Elbaz is currently in New York to present his Resort 2012 collection for Lanvin. He showed his diverse Parisian-chic style with textured garments, tweed, a draped gown, and a few more casual pieces to magazine editors and media today. Zee was also on hand and shared the following photos of the new collection.

Zee also tweeted about the designer’s new kid’s collection- you know, because all girls (big and little) need frilly Lanvin dresses.

Rarely do I know what it feels like to be tall unless I am wearing heels and then suddenly I am 5’3′” (also known as “average height”), which is why when I was browsing the latest issue of Bon, I couldn’t help but be slightly envious of model Sigrid Agren and her legs or rather her height! Shot by David Vasiljevic and styled by Tom Van Dorpe, the editorial titled “It’s About Bare Skin and Basic In-Stincts…” showcases Agren in cut-out and structured pieces by Lanvin and Chloe, as well as, killer pumps by Tom Ford…not that Agren needs them but she sure knows how to rock ‘em!

The fast talking, occasionally controversial and always stylish, Kanye West takes to the cover of V Man to literally put his money where his mouth is. The artist posed for the magazine’s spring issue in the perfectly titled, “No Risk, No Reward” editorial. Kanye rocked a black Lanvin jacked, Balenciaga pants, and a white Dior Homme tee pulled by stylist, Jacob K.

I’m honestly kind of bored with his play-it-safe black suit look, but what really grabbed my attention was that this cover look was shot by Karl Lagerfeld! Seems kind of random right? Lagerfeld, who has shot for V in the past, always finds ways for us to expect the unexpected from him. I definitely wouldn’t have put Kanye & Lagerfeld together, but the rapper’s love for fashion and the photographer’s creative mind merge together well in this shoot. I really love the contrast between the light outline around Kanye and the darkness of the clothes and background.

Music and fashion overlap and influence each other all the time, so it’s only natural for artists to be spotted front row supporting their favorite designers. I was excited to see The XX singer, Oliver Sim at Paris Men’s Fashion Week attending Lanvin‘s Fall 2011 collection debut. Sim, who is taking time off after touring the world, is currently working on new material for The XX, which I’m super stoked about. Given their album is a regular on the office playlist, I can’t wait to see, or rather hear what’s next from the band. Sim talked to WWD about the added pressure of a second album, “I’m trying my best to block it out and just enjoy what I’m doing and not think about the outside world, but there is a pressure, yeah.” Well, at least Sim had a little break from making music to enjoy Alber Elbaz‘s design’s for Lanvin….I have a feeling the popularity of black appeals to Sim’s fashion taste.

Hmm...maybe we’ll see a little Lanvin used in one of the band’s future videos? Peep the video for their song “Islands” below and tell us if you think Lanvin would be a good fit for The XX.

Although the Lanvin for H&M collection doesn’t hit stores for another three weeks, H&M was gracious enough to release the collaboration’s official lookbook and awesome video today. The lookbook features an array of puffy party dresses in bold colors and patterns, leopard shoes, and gawdy accessories as well as hip formalwear for men…and the even better part? We can start budgeting for our purchases because the prices for each piece are also listed! Peep the video below.
