The loveable and uber-chic Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have shown yet again that they are a duo to be reckoned with. Last night, the pair snagged the coveted Womenswear Designer of the Year Award at the CFDA Fashion awards for their label, The Row. They are in good company as past winners include the boys of Proenza Schouler- Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Marc Jacobs,  Kat and Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte, Altuzurra, and Alexander Wang.

As if their keen eye for effortless silhouette and their contemporary design sense wasn’t enough, the honor certainly intensifies their fashion authority in the industry. Other evening highlights include Johnny Depp’s award for Fashion Icon and Philip Lim’s Award for Emerging Menswear Talent. Billy Reid deservedly received the title of Menswear Designer of the Year.

Another milestone for the awards comes this year as for the first time ever, The 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards will be available for all to see, today at noon EST on Style.com. CFDA has been celebrating the broadcast with photo sneak peaks and will continue with highlights and bonus material after the broadcast. According to the CFDA itself, the actual digital broadcast  “will feature the awards ceremony from red carpet highlights and interviews through the final bow of the night. Style.com’s Tim Blanks will serve as the red carpet host speaking with some of the most influential names in fashion, entertainment, sports, and music. In addition to acceptance speeches and short films, this year’s Awards will include several special live moments paying tribute to the CFDA’s legacy.”

Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA said, “We are thrilled to be able to share American fashion’s biggest night with the public for the first time and to be working with Style.com on this incredible project. This is an amazing opportunity to expand our audience as we open this exclusive industry event to fashion lovers around the world. It is not to be missed. April is almost over and that means we still have several days to relish the exquisite April Elle UK covers featuring the one and only duo, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The 25-year-old actresses and fashion moguls, who are the brains behind the successful fashion brands of Elizabeth & James and The Row, told Elle: “We are perfectionists. We’ve always wanted to be closely involved with everything, totally hands on – that’s why it works. If we step away, it stops working. I know it sounds controlling, but that’s how it has to be.” Clearly the girls must be doing something right to have a empire worth nearly $1 billion. On the covers, the girls don bejeweled statement-making garments- MK in a white shirt with an embellished collar and Ashley in a multicolor frock from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. These twins are the epitome of beautiful AND powerful women. And who says you can’t have it all?

New York Fashion Week was quite the installment for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s luxury clothing brand, The Row. They presented a new collection, a new handbag line AND a new collaboration! Now, where to begin!? Let’s start with their Fall/Winter 2011 collection, which was beyond amazing! The Row is well known for it’s beautifully crafted, high-quality basics—usually in neutral tones with a few colored pieces thrown in here and there. But, this season the design duo took The Row to the next level. They threw their devotees for a loop, and quite literally made us do a double take. The collection included indulgent furs, leathers, velvets and silks, all in an amazing color palette—blacks (of course), whites, browns, blues, and even a marigold color. Oh and I cannot forget my most favorite color, leopard print! I feel like this collection possesses the true Olsen style we all know, love and covet…

Now let’s move on to their new handbag collection as the Olsens are KNOWN for their great taste in bags. It’s no wonder their handbag collection is absolutely divine! According to Barney’s New York, you will definitely need a loan to purchase one of these babies. They are saying the price range is right up there with the Hermès Birkin bag—I know, my heart just fell into my stomach too. But hey, a girl can dream and she can definitely be lustful!

And finally, here is something you can afford from The Row, a pair of shoes! According to WWD, The Row has teamed up with TOMS Shoes to create multiple pairs of shoes with prices ranging from $98 to $150. I don’t know about you, but my wallet can definitely afford that, especially since each pair of shoes you buy, another pair of shoes is given to a child in need. Hello philanthrophy—TOMS love you, The Row loves you, and MyFDB love you too!

If you’re a blogger, you know very well how difficult it can be to constantly update your blog with new and original content on a day-to-day basis. Let’s face it, life just gets in the way sometimes. However, these inevitable mishaps don’t seem to phase Jenn Camp. She heads not one, two, three, or four but five blogs; FIVE! To say the least, Camp seems to be quite the ambitious, multifaceted and organized fashion lover. Each one of her blogs is slightly different in terms of theme and content, but as a whole they function as one unit feeding off of one another and fueling readers addictions to fashion, the Olsens, smoking, love, and inspiration. As you can probably guess, those five categories basically sum up her blogs:

1. Le Fashion – A wonderful blog about all things fashion from news to editorials to lookbooks and finds…basically fashion EVERYTHING. It reminds me of blogs, Knight Cat and Studded Hearts.

2. Olsens Anonymous - A photo diary about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen‘s fashion sense. Camp features never seen before photos of the girls along with 360 degree outfit photos and information regarding their fashion brands, Olsenboye, Elizabeth & James, and of course The Row.

3. Le Smoking – Another photo diary about the seemingly cool and totally unhealthy activity of smoking. I have to admit, smoke can be quite amazing in pictures if captured correctly by the photographer.

4. Le Love – A blog about the ups and downs of love. Every aspect of love is covered on Le Love; whether you have a story about your parents, your pet, your lover or that stranger you met in the elevator, Camp will post it on her blog. Readers of the blog generally give love, support and advice through commenting on the posts. It’s nice to know that you’re not the only crazy-in-love person out there.

5. …Etc – A blog literally called, Etcetera and all the rest. It’s another photo diary type blog that features all kinds of inspirational images.

Camp and her five blog babies are gaining a great deal of popularity and praise; especially from everyone at MyFDB! We admit, we read each of her blogs on the regular and recently she was featured on ShopBop.com for their fashion insider holiday wish list feature. Be sure to peep all five of Camp’s blogs, there is definitely a little something for everyone!

We got the opportunity to attend the VIP session of The Row’s Los Angeles sample sale today. Needless to say, it was amazing!! The prices were unbelievable; there were racks of clothing starting at $30 and up! This is quite the steal considering that The Row uses the most luxurious fabrics on their garments like leather, cashmere, silk and modal. If you are lucky enough to live in the Los Angeles area be sure to head over to The Row for this rare occasion, the official invite is pictured above. If not your not in the area, you can find The Row in stores like Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman.
