Just because a woman is topless doesn’t mean she has to illicit some trashy pornographic pose. Photographer duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott tastefully capture Anja Rubik and Sasha Pivovarova in the buff for this dangerously sexy and stylish editorial in Vogue Paris called, “Fatale“. The shoot is a mix of black & white images and high contrast colored photography. The girls aren’t naked the entire time either, but there is a sizable amount of boob-age, it is Vogue Paris after all, where nudity is nothing to flinch at. Maybe one day Vogue US will catch up to the artistic ways of their European offspring.

Hop on Sam Riley‘s scooter because we’re going for a ride through time…back to when mod looks ruled on both coasts. Fashion editor Grace Coddington may have dug into her memory bank for this concept since she developed the stunning “My Generation” shoot for Vogue you see here. Photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott captured the insanely gorgeous Natalia Vodianova with dark haired actor Riley.

The editorial trails the duo as they make a speedy getaway up the coast for some canoodling and quality time. Unlike other beach shoots, I love how this editorial keeps both models clothed, while showing off fall coat trends. It is October after all and the beach stays beautiful year round (just gets a tad chilly). Keeping with autumn attire, how gorgeous is the green snakeskin coat Vodianova wears? If slithering styles aren’t your thing then you’ll probably appreciate this red Versace wool military jacket, which is perfect for windy scooter rides.

It’s no secret Angelina Jolie and her eclectic parade of children are all beautiful. They’re basically a Benetton ad in the making and Vanity Fair tapped into Hollywood’s first family for an intimate photoshoot with Jolie and her tots. Actually, the shoot is mostly of Jolie, but her kids do make a few cameos. The actress was captured by famed fashion photog duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Jolie also posed bare face for the magazine’s cover, which is basically an ode to her amazing bone structure.

I love the lens filters they used on some of the shots, to really bring out Jolie’s natural beauty. These high contrast images reflect her natural down to earth side. Well, as “down to earth” as any celebrity mommy can be. Her shoot is pretty and the images are playful, but I’d much rather see how the actress actually lives with photos of her dealing with a tantrum from one of her many children, or better yet photos of them ganging up on her. I vote for a food fight!

The ol’ “hand over face” is a pretty typical modeling pose that shifts focus to the eyes and gives the essence of mystery to any shot. This signature pose is easily recognizable in fashion shoots, but for a publication to use it twice in one year is odd. Surprisingly Interview magazine selected smoldering shots of Tom Ford and Freida Pinto where they are both covering their faces for two of their 2011 covers.

What’s even more surprising is the images were both lensed by different photographers. For the mag’s August cover Freida sat down with famed duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. As for Ford, he posed for Craig McDean for the publication’s February 2011 cover.

So we ask…

The campaign for Fall/Winter is less fruity and more formal. The images feature (a not so confused) Natalia Vodianova, who models for Stella McCartney regularly. The ads were taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Their previous campaign was more lackluster with mysterious dimmed lighting and model Edita Vilkeviciute just lounging around…boring. 

As you can see, the brand stepped it up this year by hiring Sasha Pivovarova and the handsome Diego Fragoso. Both campaigns were shot by famed fashion photog duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but by using a white background the clothes and the models really pop.

Talk about pure sexiness…which if we all know anything about elusive designer Tom Ford, then we know “sex” is one aesthetic of his that’s always at the forefront of his ads campaigns. I mean, remember his last fragrance? The only thing the models wore was the cologne itself… And yet in true Tom Ford fashion, his clothes and overall vision can make any person look sultry whether or not they are clothed. His latest ads shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott models Jon Kortajarena and Candice Swanepoel definitely prove this.

The high contrast images feature clothing in rich jewel tones such as Kortajarena’s amazing electric blue suit and Swanepoel’s purple laces dress with (of course) matching red lips and nails…another thing Tom Ford can make look sexy. And major kudos to Swanepoel, another Victoria’s Secret angel doing something other than walking the runway (could she be the next Miranda Kerr?). His latest collection is all about the femininity, glamour and sensuality of the 80′s…Whoever said seduction lies in taking off clothes had it all wrong. Ford makes me believe seduction is found in getting dressed.

I’m all for “interesting” but Industrie‘s latest editorial “Mert & Marcus By Mert & Marcus” is just…well, weird? Shot by the talented duo (yes, you guessed it, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott), the spread features some great “self-portrait” like shots of the team as well as some very intimate shots of a naked Kate Moss. But Kate Moss isn’t the only one baring it all because actually the majority of the models in the shoot are sans clothes.

I love how provocative the images are but there really isn’t much of a theme going on within the editorial. I mean, black & white photos of Mert and Marcus, a naked Kate Moss with a cigarette and then even more naked models but in color all shot by the duo…Hmmm. Interesting.

Just when we thought the sexiest designer alive had done it all, we were mistaken…Tom Ford is finally venturing further out into the beauty world as he spoke to WWD‘s London bureau. And if it’s all about timing then Tom has got it because a very personal documentary on the designers is set to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network June 24th.

Ford emphasized the idea that his approach to beauty is simple and practical, similar to how he designs clothes. Ford also said he had wanted to do a color cosmetics line for quite some time now. “My intention was to do color cosmetics out of the gate, but not everyone else was convinced that I had a voice in color until the lipsticks started selling out again and again” in reference to the Private Blend Lip Color Collection that launched last year. Tom then went on to say that one must understand the architecture of the face lamenting on the importance of the eyebrows, “A nice thick brow is the key to a youthful look.”

In true “attention to detail” Ford fashion the collection will include “calligraphy tip brow pens are so precise, they can be used to draw on individual brow hair” as well as various products to contour and illuminate the face. And Tom, a fan of color,  says his lip glosses (such as “Lost Cherry”) aren’t the only item high in pigmentation. The look he was going for with the help of makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury was that “feminine aesthetic at Studio 54 circa 1978, the full glossy lips and thick brows, the sparkling eyes and the long flowing locks on characters including Jerry Hall, Lauren Hutton, Mariel Hemingway and Bianca Jagger.”

And who better to star in the ads than Ford himself and the gorgeous Lara Stone. The model landed a Calvin Klein exclusive a year ago but appears now that she has dumped Calvin Klein for Tom Ford, wise choice Lara. The ads, shot by duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot are not as revealing as prior ones but sure are sexy.

First Mario Testino got her naked for the cover of Vogue Brasil, now Kate Moss has a bunch of grabby hands on her for Vogue Paris. Photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured the bombshell as some muscular male hands tried to peel off her clothes… Four of the arms look like they actually could rip her jacket off, but I think that bottom hand just wanted to cop a feel.

Moving to the editorial that follows inside the mag entitled “Haute Couture,” Moss is put in some very interesting looks. Judging from the cover, you’d think she’d be teasing us with nudity in her shoot, but instead the editorial makes her look like she’s experiencing an identity crisis. She starts with a pink mushroom headed bob, then her looks turn more glam before she pops up with a mohawk and ends the shoot in a space swimsuit.

I don’t know which Kate I like better: pink mushroom haired Kate or space swimsuit Kate?
