First Vogue Paris made over their hit song “Girls on Film”, then L’Uomo Vogue made over Duran Duran, and finally Paper put the guys on their cover in anticipation of the band’s new album. But, the fashion industry has been stir crazy of the release of their new video “Girl Panic” which finally hit the internet today. Given the band was one of the first to use models in their music video, it’s only natural for them to cast supermodels for their rock return.

The infamous Naomi Campbell morphed into Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon for “Girl Panic!” She’s not the only one putting on an acting facade for the shoot, Eva Herzigova played Nick Rhodes, Helena Christensen partied like Roger Taylor, and Cindy Crawford sexed up John Taylor. And of course Yasmin Le Bon was there for all the fun, she’s the model who married the lead singer.

The lengthy video (9 minutes), features the models in seriously sexy bondage gear doing mock interviews as the band members and partying like rockstars in a London hotel suite. The clothes (what little clothing there is) is unbelievable! Given the cameos by Dolce & Gabbana, I’m guessing many of their pieces made it into the video. Everything culminates with a performance by the models in their full Duran Duran character along with a Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot, where D&G come into play.

I know 9 minutes is a long time, but this epic shoot is worth it.

Vice magazine missed that lecture in school when we were taught about drugs being bad or at least their friend Elektra did. She voluntarily dropped acid before heading into the London Fashion Week

So what do we learn from the adventures of Elektra? Apparently, nothing we didn’t already know. Standing in lines and crowds are not fun, Naomi Campbell is cray cray, and skinny models can be quite the concern.

While tripping out waiting for the Topshop Unique show our young drug user’s nerves were calmed by the clown looking lady above. After the show she was starstruck by the infamous Campbell and asked for a photo. The encounter went like this: “Do you mind if I get a picture with you?” Naomi turned to her and said, “I’m sorry, but I’m not speaking.” (Yikes. Did Naomi know she was talking out loud?)

During the actual show Elektra became distracted from the fashions due to some of the scary skinny models on the catwalk. She said, “I also started to get really concerned about the well-being of the models. They were so thin! The one with pink hair in particular. She was a goner. She had a week left, tops. May she rest in peace.”

Uhh…that’s a litte dramatic. But if you’re concerned, the pink-haired Charlotte Free is alive & kickin’.

Elektra ends her day by saying, ”I feel like I’ve been through so much. And SEEN so much. Good stuff and bad. I feel that, from now on, nobody should ever go to fashion week not on acid. It would be stupid.”

We can only imagine what it was like to be Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington when they were living it up as supermodels in their early twenties jetting across the globe. While their fast-paced modeling lives were glamorous, their agent at the time, Carole White of Premier Model Management recently dished on what it was really like to work with the girls. The three are pictured above and appear very close, so close that at one point Campbell started referring to White  as “mum” since she was always around to help solve her problems. She said of the duo, “these girls were a real phenomenon – they were earning up to Ł300,000 ($425k) for a campaign. Very few models make that sort of money now because the industry has changed.”

White weighed in on her experiences with Campbell and Turlington, and they’re pretty much what you’d expect to hear…
“Christy and Naomi are very different characters. Christy was a dream, very professional and calm, whereas Naomi was less disciplined and used to get me into trouble. Mostly it was because she was late, but sometimes she just didn’t turn up. I used to lie to her about what time she had to be at a job, but she soon worked that out, so I had to lie further. If the call time was 10am, I would tell her it was 8am so she would think it was 9am, but I still had to cross my fingers that she’d be on time. She missed planes too. Once after she missed a flight to Austria I had to organise a private jet to get her to the job because the money was so huge she had to be there.”

She went on to say, “another time a Dutch nursery named a rare black tulip after her and asked her to promote it. Hundreds of the flowers were driven to London in a refrigerated van to fill a studio. Naomi was supposed to lie in the middle of them for a commercial, but she didn’t turn up for the shoot – she was sick. These poor guys watched the tulips wilt in the studio and the ad never happened.”

Well, now there’s proof for what we already suspected: Christy is a doll and Naomi’s a diva.

First their hit “Girls On Film” was used for  a Vogue Paris shoot and video, then the band was in L’Uomo Vogue and Paper and now rumors are circling the web that Duran Duran is producing a not-so-seceret supermodel filled video for their song, “Girl Panic.”

Models Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, and Yasmin LeBon (the lead singer’s wife) along with fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana all gathered earlier this week in London for some sort of photo/video shoot. Allegedly Harpers Bazaar UK is also involved in this very covert operation. Too bad someone should’ve told Twitter loving Stefano Gabbana that the gathering is supposed to be a surprise because the designer shared a sleuth of TwitPics from the shoot which partially confirm suspicions by the media.

I’m not puzzled that all of this happening… I’m perplexed as to why the eighties band is taking the fashion industry by storm? Is it because the lead singer’s wife is a well-known model? Or is there something I’m missing here? I know neon is a big trend right now, but does this mean we’re all going to be wearing hotpants and rockin’ big hair again? I sure hope not.

Yasmin Le Bon, Vanessa Paradis, Rosario Dawson, Karolina Kurkova, Jane Fonda and Campbell herself all strutted down the catwalk…but we’re thinking maybe all of this was planned? I mean, isn’t it a little ironic that Wixson, model of the moment fell at Campell’s show in Cannes? Everyone knows how hard it is to get press coverage there…

Regardless of whether the tumble was real or not, we give Wixson major kudos for rising and playfully giving the audience a a thumbs up. Hey, you just fell in couture, what else would you do?

When I saw pictures of what happened after the met gala last night, I was reminded of Jay-Z‘s lyrics: “After the show it’s the after party then, after the party it’s the hotel lobby.” Because that’s exactly where everyone ended up after partying the night away at The Standard NY‘s infamous Boom Boom Room on top of the hotel.

Once the formal gala ended everyone let loose! Dree Hemingway got behind the turntables, Prabal Gurung partied with Andy Cohen, Brad Goreski danced the night away, and Naomi Campbell received a kiss of admiration on the hand from Bruno Mars. Ok, I know I said the Costume Institute ball is where everyone was at, but I think the after party comes in a close second. How much would you have loved to watch Stefano Pilati cut a rug with Florence Welch? Well, actually you can! We gathered the best party shots, so you don’t feel left out.

Today’s close of Paris Fashion Week marks the end of fashion month for the industry, but of course Paris saves the best for last- Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu!

Louis Vuitton literally had a “lifting” presentation! After French maids greeted show-goers, models were welcomed onto the runway by doormen after being raised up to the catwalk courtesy of vintage elevators. Watch the video below to see the entire event and keep a sharp eye on screen, so you don’t miss models Naomi Campbell, Raquel Zimmerman and Amber Valletta strut the catwalk. Keep tuned in until the end and you’ll see a cigarette toting Kate Moss close the show! Oh and don’t forget about the fashions, the collection had a fetish feel from designer, Marc Jacobs with the use of rubber materials. With models arriving in elevators, french maids, and haute garments- a high fashion call girl feel was present!

Miu Miu‘s show was much simpler in comparison to Vuitton’s, but handbags and bold glittery shoes were a real standout! I also loved the heavily beaded and sequined floral embellishments which complimented fitted black dresses along with the white collars on oversized blouses. Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence were front row for the show, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing them in Miu Miu’s F/W collection very soon! Watch the full fashion show below:
