Just because a woman is topless doesn’t mean she has to illicit some trashy pornographic pose. Photographer duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott tastefully capture Anja Rubik and Sasha Pivovarova in the buff for this dangerously sexy and stylish editorial in Vogue Paris called, “Fatale“. The shoot is a mix of black & white images and high contrast colored photography. The girls aren’t naked the entire time either, but there is a sizable amount of boob-age, it is Vogue Paris after all, where nudity is nothing to flinch at. Maybe one day Vogue US will catch up to the artistic ways of their European offspring.

Their previous campaign was more lackluster with mysterious dimmed lighting and model Edita Vilkeviciute just lounging around…boring. 

As you can see, the brand stepped it up this year by hiring Sasha Pivovarova and the handsome Diego Fragoso. Both campaigns were shot by famed fashion photog duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but by using a white background the clothes and the models really pop.

According to the Telegraph, “while Anna’s at the helm of US Vogue, it will remain an Alaïa-free zone. All US Vogue staff were banned from attending his couture presentation yesterday, both by Wintour and by Alaïa, who also huffed that the publication never supports him anyway, “She hasn’t photographed my work in years even if I am a best seller in the U.S. and I have 140 square meters at Barneys. American women love me; I don’t need her support at all.”

Perhaps Wintour, who attended the premiere with her niece, is secretly a huge Harry Potter fan? (we bet she’s already on Pottermore.) Besides who needs Vogue when you have noteworthy guests such as Kanye West, Donatella Versace, and Sofia Coppola (whose wedding dress could be Alaïa designed) at your show?

On the catwalk models Karlie Kloss, Sigrid Agren, Karmen Pedaru, Hailey Clauson, Sasha Pivovarova, and Arizona Muse (to name a few) all strutted the Tunisian designer’s latest looks. The collection commenced with meticulously tailored variations of the coat-dress and transitioned to noir gowns with sheer and ruffled accents. The coat-dresses need to grow on us, but the sharpness of the formal dresses and their subtle, yet impactful detailing are reasons Alaïa has remained a high fashion staple for so long…sorry Anna.

Karl Lagerfeld loves to put on a good show and each season Paris Fashion Week show-goers are treated to an extravagant Chanel experience. Well, this year the brand literally erupted! With their runway surrounded by black rocks and charcoal, steam smoldered up as models walked a smokey catwalk showcasing dark masculine looks for fall. What made the event an ever larger spectacle was the daunting drawbridge that opened up to signify the start of the show.

Models walking the catwalk included Freja Beha Erichsen, Stella Tennant, Sasha Pivovarova, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Arizona Muse, Anja Rubik, Baptiste Giabiconi (Showtime!), Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Natasha Poly, Kasia Struss, and more.

With the tune of The Cure’s “A Forest” playing while models walked the runway, the show definitely had a more gothic vibe. Overall the collection was much harder due to the use of onyx black tweeds and larger industrial feeling suits and capes.

The volcanic show didn’t have any lava spewing out, but there was a kind of an apocalyptic feel from Lagerfed’s dark vision. Besides, if the world is going to end, its best to go out rocking Chanel!

What’s sleek, shiny and beautiful all over? Yep, you guessed it—Miu Miu of course! And their Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign has got to be one of my all time favorites! Photographers, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott did an amazing job with these shots. The large contrasts between the black background, the beautiful red floor, and the glowing metallic models and clothing compliment one another so well. Miu Miu’s choice in models is also quite classy and appealing with beauties like Kasia Struss and Sasha Pivovarova amongst others.

Fashion Editor and Stylist, Joe Mckenna did an amazing job with this ad campaign. But then again, how could you possibly go wrong with Miu Miu fashions? And, special attention definitely needs to be paid to those crazy, colorful shoes pictured above! Hello beauties, come to mama! Also, don’t the models look as if they are sitting in a fun house full of mirrors? It’s definitely an interesting perspective, but at least we get to see all angles of the clothing. Brands always spend mega-bucks on a top notch crew for glitzy ad campaigns, while this approach works for some, rag & bone decided upon a much more raw approach for their latest images. The line enlisted the help of runway regulars, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Edita Vilkeviciute, Sasha Pivovarova and Lily Aldridge for a lil DIY ad campaign action. The girls were given digital cameras to shoot and style themselves in rag & bone’s clothes. The result? Some playful, dirty and wet images of the models frolicking in rag & bone. My favorite shot has got to be Sasha looking oh so casual and chic while pumping gas.

The images are going to be made into posters which will be displayed all over Manhattan. This ad campaign will also go viral with the brand’s newest crowd sourcing initiative. Fans who download flyers on rag-bone.com and and post them around their city will be automatically entered to win tickets to the rag & bone Fall 2011 Fashion Show in New York after they submit a photo of their work. I’m guessing this means we’ll be seeing lots of our model crushes around NYC very soon.

You might remember a fairly recent blog post of ours about the redefined Emma Watson who was featured in the December 2010 issue of Vogue British. Well, don’t worry we made sure to not overlook all of the other beautiful editorials within the magazine, especially the one titled, “Star Girls”.

It’s quite the star studded spread featuring top models of the moment such as Lily Donaldson, Karlie Kloss, Natalia Vodianova, Sasha Pivovarova, Freja Beha Erichsen, Angela Lindvall and Lara Stone as well as industry veterans Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Claudia Schiffer. These It-girls are dressed in pearly white and glorious gold. If a wardrobe based on precious materials doesn’t say, “star-studded, glamorous and fabulous” then I don’t know what does. These “Star Girls” were shot by world-renowned Mario Testino – Bravo!

A stunning Sasha Pivovarova is shot by Patrick Demarchelier for the editorial titled Naturally Refined in the latest issue of Vogue. Styled by Tonne Goodman, Pivovarova goes back to the basics of the season but with a more natural twist; items that are eco-friendly.

Pieces include an organic over-sized sweater by Michael Kors as well as a Calvin Klein coat made of biodegradable silk! Going green never looked so good…or so fashionable!

We don’t need to know Italian to admire Vogue Italia Beauty, the bi-annual supplement to Vogue Italia is full of glamorous photo shoots catered towards the beauty industry.

In the latest issue a hair raising editorial aptly titled, “Love is in The Hair” caused us to stop working and stare at the luscious locks of model, Sasha Pivovarova.

Photographed by Emma Summerton, Pivovarova takes on three different looks including a fiery red, blushing blond, and a seductive grey-ish do. Hairstylist, Sam McKnight was responsible for taming her mane while makeup artist Alex Box created complimenting cosmetic looks. Bravo team!
