A twist on the Twitter meme “Tuesday Shoesday” where everyone shows off their latest haute foot find, we opted to give our kicks a boot with this Details editorial, which does just that, but in a pretty way. Yellow balloons and hands coming out of a purple wall help show off current men’s footwear trends for fall for the “Get The Boot” shoot. We adore the colorful creative display of the shoes, which are obviously more bulky and sturdy then say our delicate Louboutins or Choos. Men’s footwear is typically thought of boring compared to our sexy stilettos, but you have to “hand” it to photographer Lacey for catching the shoes in a new light.

If you can manage to peel your eyes away from the Choos, you’ll realize the brand also makes handbags, which are strategically placed in many of their ad campaign shots.

Every A-list red carpet has more than a few matching soles. Red soles and artistic designs, along with a swarm of celebrity clients, have help rocket Christian Louboutin to the forefront of the well-heeled footwear industry. While he may have gone a tad sue crazy over the use of the red sole, his artistic creations remain unmatched. In celebration of twenty years of the successful shoe house, Louboutin is releasing a high fashion coffee table book. And this text is far from boring as it includes five-piece foldout binding and a pop-up, emphasizing a vivid retrospect on Louboutin’s designs and history. Divided into six chapters fans can get cozy with the shoe designer. Interestingly, the forward for the self-titled Christian Louboutin was written by Louboutin’s friend, John Malkovich.

According to the overview, “The first chapter covers Louboutin’s biography, his start as a designer from his work for Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent to his first boutique in 1992, and his early creations and influences illustrated with many never-seen-before photos from his personal archives; chapter two features the Louboutin boutiques around the world showcasing the varied and extravagant interior designs and displays; chapter three is “20 years of design” and highlights his shoe designs from over the years with all-new still-life photography, as well as editorial art; chapter four features the spectacular interiors of Louboutin’s homes in Paris and Luxor, Egypt, and behind-the-scenes shots from his studios and workshops; chapter five focuses on his creative collaborations with David Lynch, of a series called “Fetish,” of limited-edition shoes by Louboutin and limited-edition photos by Lynch; chapter six is a complete catalogue raisonne of his work, with photos of all 120 shoe designs.”

Christian Louboutin is currently available for sale and next time we see Malkovich or Lynch at an event we’ll be sure to peep their footwear to see if they’re wearing Louboutin for men.

How did you decide to start a blog? And where did the idea for its name come from?
I decided to start I Heart Heels a few years ago as a hobby and a way to express my thoughts. It’s sort of my online journal and a way for me to record all of my favorite fashion musings in one spot. I love writing and being creative, not to mention fashion, so starting a blog has been an amazing, therapeutic experience for me. And I love sharing my favorite things with others! I wanted to come up with a name that I thought every girl could relate to, and judging by what I’ve seen, most girls I know are obsessed with heels!

What is your perfect or ideal weekend like?
I think a weekend of shopping with my family combines all of my loves at once (um, and throw in an afternoon at the spa). That sounds like fun to me!

Blending in by being camouflaged to your surroundings is tres passe, especially when you’re in the jungle. Best demonstrated by this striking shoot, perfectly titled “Glamazon” from shoe line Melissa; this is easily one of the coolest editorials I’ve seen in awhile… Go figure it’s not in an actual fashion magazine, but instead from a promotional insert put out by a brand.

The creative forces behind this eye-shot editorial include creative director Erika Palomino, photographer Gui Paganini, with models Paula Zago and Marcelia Freezs.

I love that this editorial mixes colors, textures, patterns and a ton of prints! Literally anything goes when you’re out in the jungle.

Good shoes are usually worth a good fight. With this in mind, Vogue Italia Accessory shows off some of the latest trends in footwear in their annual “Portuguese Soul” editorial. Clunky wooden soles with cutouts are definitely trending in the shoot, hence why there’s some hair pulling going on. Meanwhile, the guys in the show off shoes that are casual, but have some flair. Another bonus? There’s no shortage of abs in this editorial either.

YSL, who has had more than their fair share of peep toe problems this year, is selling sneakers with the help of some high flying models with incredibly good bodies. This video was released not too long ago, but the brand tweeted about it yesterday and given the’ve had their feet wet with shoe litigation, I figured it’s worth a view.

You don’t see as much of the shoes, as you do half naked men. There are some gravity defying models who twist and turn in the air, all while showing off the designer kicks. Karim Sadli directed the short and we get to see models Julius Gerhardt, Malthe Lund Madsen and Angus Whitehead show off the footwear.

Well not really…but kinda sorta yes. According to Perez Hilton, Irish 16 -year-old Tara Haughton is giving people a way to DIY their heels into Louboutins with her Rosso Solini “designer soles”. For a little over $25 dollars, people can purchase red soles that stick onto the arch of your heels and rock it hard like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Lea Michele. The soles also come in a variety of colors and prints (I am currently lusting over the leopard print ones please and thank you).

I am giving Haughton major kudos for her clever creativity…Why didn’t someone come up with this idea earlier!? And how long until Mr. Louboutin sues her? Given how crazy they have been with other brands, I am thinking Haughton has it coming sooner than later.

I guess when it comes down to it, it’s all about your “fashion morals”…would you rather wait and own the real deal or rock the knock-off? And for more of Rosso Solini, check the video out below!

Here’s any easy question for you…What do you think of when you see red soled stilettos? If your first reaction was Carrie Bradshaw, then you’re not too far off. The real answer is Christian Louboutin‘s signature heels. The red soles are a staple at fashion weeks and movie premieres around the globe. But, how would you feel if a major fashion house started producing a red sole shoe for themselves? Probably confused,  but let’s dive into the litigations for ourselves. First we have the plaintiff, Christian Louboutin who is claiming that a shoe from Yves Saint Laurent‘s new collection bears the same red sole that the brand is known for. For fear of consumer confusion Louboutin is suing YSL over the design.

Court papers state: “The defendants use of red footwear outsoles that are virtually identical to plaintiff’s Red Sole Mark is likely to cause and is causing confusion, mistake and deception among the relevant purchasing public as to the origin of the infringing footwear.”

Louboutin does have strong case, but lets take a look at the defendants new collection and past designs. Rolling out this spring we can expect to see the now infamous Palais Peep Toe Pumps that’ll be available in red, purple, navy, and green suede. Like the red pump, each shoe’s color will have a matching sole. The shoes above are past YSL peep toes and you can clearly see how each shoe’s hue corresponds with its sole. So this color on concept isn’t exactly new for them.

YSL has yet to release a statement about this lawsuit and I’m no Nancy Drew, but I’m pretty sure the fashion house did not intentionally copy Louboutin. But, does Louboutin own the copyright to all shoes with a red sole? We’ll just have to wait and see how this fashion fight plays out.
