The ads are just as lively and fun as the video created to promote it. Now we know what it’s like to be a high fashion model and dance to Pitbull, all whilst wearing insanely fabulous attire. Thank you Alber Elbaz and props on your mad dance skills. We like a designer who has talent and can cut a rug! Models Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann aren’t so bad either. Photographer Steven Meisel captured all of the dancing action for the campaign.

Tom Ford

The man can do no wrong. High contrast images with sexual understones are pretty much always a win. Jon Kortajarena is complimented with the stunning Candice Swanepoel, who’s red lips look like they could eat him up. Ford’s campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Mulberry

Going off into the wilderness proved to be a step in the right direction for the brand. Their mixed media images encompassed wildlife, and the current collection made for a foxy combination. What got our attention even more was the video they released alongside the ad campaign– all very trippy. The campaign was photographed by Tim Walker and featured models Tatiana Cotliar and Julia Saner.

Giorgio Armani

This high fashion brand went from lackluster to glamorous with their F/W campaign. A red lipped Sasha Pivovarova lights up the clothes in front of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. We can’t get over the glamour and drama combined in the campaign, a major upgrade for the line.

Alexander McQueen

Superhero powers and haute fashions combine to make this stellar ad campaign which feels out of this world! The current face of McQueen, Raquel Zimmermann is literally exploding in the dark & stormy shots. Captured by David Sims, the images and ads actually lived up to their viral hype thanks to digital artist Aaron Parsons.

Miu Miu

Young and petite actress Haliee Steinfeld revealed her “True (modeling) Grit” for this campaign. The actress proved she can be high fashion, while still remaining age appropriate by eating pizza and lounging with glittered heels. With a captivating range of emotion this campaign shot by Bruce Weber is one for the history books.

Jimmy Choo

Sex sells (something we all know), but Choo does it in moderation while keeping it’s well-heeled class. The shoe brand promotes their bags and footwear in a campaign full of sexual undertones without showing too much skin. Instead, it’s all about the leg, err, rather foot in this case. Models Raquel Zimmermann and Ben Hill put on a show for photog Steven Meisel.

The ol’ “hand over face” is a pretty typical modeling pose that shifts focus to the eyes and gives the essence of mystery to any shot. This signature pose is easily recognizable in fashion shoots, but for a publication to use it twice in one year is odd. Surprisingly Interview magazine selected smoldering shots of Tom Ford and Freida Pinto where they are both covering their faces for two of their 2011 covers.

What’s even more surprising is the images were both lensed by different photographers. For the mag’s August cover Freida sat down with famed duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. As for Ford, he posed for Craig McDean for the publication’s February 2011 cover.

So we ask…

Talk about pure sexiness…which if we all know anything about elusive designer Tom Ford, then we know “sex” is one aesthetic of his that’s always at the forefront of his ads campaigns. I mean, remember his last fragrance? The only thing the models wore was the cologne itself… And yet in true Tom Ford fashion, his clothes and overall vision can make any person look sultry whether or not they are clothed. His latest ads shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott models Jon Kortajarena and Candice Swanepoel definitely prove this.

The high contrast images feature clothing in rich jewel tones such as Kortajarena’s amazing electric blue suit and Swanepoel’s purple laces dress with (of course) matching red lips and nails…another thing Tom Ford can make look sexy. And major kudos to Swanepoel, another Victoria’s Secret angel doing something other than walking the runway (could she be the next Miranda Kerr?). His latest collection is all about the femininity, glamour and sensuality of the 80′s…Whoever said seduction lies in taking off clothes had it all wrong. Ford makes me believe seduction is found in getting dressed.

Actor and model Nicholas Hoult may just be 21, but he’s showing us his mature side for the cover of BlackBlook. Even though his editorial is titled, “The Boy Who Fell To Earth” there’s nothing boyish about Hoult anymore. Known in the acting world for his role as Marcus (the boy) in “About A Boy” and as Tony Stonem in UK’s “Skins” the silver screen face also has a knack for modeling. You might remember him crowing for Tom Ford? Well, Hoult sheds all his past childish images for BlackBook and is looking tres debonair in fitted formal menswear.

Just when we thought the sexiest designer alive had done it all, we were mistaken…Tom Ford is finally venturing further out into the beauty world as he spoke to WWD‘s London bureau. And if it’s all about timing then Tom has got it because a very personal documentary on the designers is set to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network June 24th.

Ford emphasized the idea that his approach to beauty is simple and practical, similar to how he designs clothes. Ford also said he had wanted to do a color cosmetics line for quite some time now. “My intention was to do color cosmetics out of the gate, but not everyone else was convinced that I had a voice in color until the lipsticks started selling out again and again” in reference to the Private Blend Lip Color Collection that launched last year. Tom then went on to say that one must understand the architecture of the face lamenting on the importance of the eyebrows, “A nice thick brow is the key to a youthful look.”

In true “attention to detail” Ford fashion the collection will include “calligraphy tip brow pens are so precise, they can be used to draw on individual brow hair” as well as various products to contour and illuminate the face. And Tom, a fan of color,  says his lip glosses (such as “Lost Cherry”) aren’t the only item high in pigmentation. The look he was going for with the help of makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury was that “feminine aesthetic at Studio 54 circa 1978, the full glossy lips and thick brows, the sparkling eyes and the long flowing locks on characters including Jerry Hall, Lauren Hutton, Mariel Hemingway and Bianca Jagger.”

And who better to star in the ads than Ford himself and the gorgeous Lara Stone. The model landed a Calvin Klein exclusive a year ago but appears now that she has dumped Calvin Klein for Tom Ford, wise choice Lara. The ads, shot by duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot are not as revealing as prior ones but sure are sexy.

We all know and love Tom Ford for his sexy secretness. Rarely does he truly divulge about his real life, so when he does, we know to listen. According to an interview with CNN, Ford received hate mail from his ”predecessor and rival Yves Saint-Laurent when Ford took Yves Saint-Laurent’s eponymous fashion house in 1999 when parts of it were sold to the Gucci group, where Ford was creative director.”

Ford went on to say that at first the two were on amicable terms and Laurent was supportive, but that soon changed with the success Ford produced for the fashion house. Ford told CNN, “I have letters that he wrote to me about it, you know: ‘In 13 minutes on the runway you have destroyed 40 years of my career’…I am really happy I have them — they are written in his own hand. When I’m 85, maybe I’ll put them in a book — if anyone cares.”

Sounds like Tom Ford could turn from designer to director to author…what does’t Ford do?! And YES, I would love to read those letters. Check the video out below for more!

Bummer, that Yves Saint Laurent can’t retort back. He retired in 2002 and passed away 6 years later…But still I wonder what he would say?

As sad as we were to see Oprah go after her odd (and very entertaining) interview with designer Ralph Lauren…it seems that she really isn’t going anywhere…and she’s even expanding more into the realm of fashion on her “own” network with the premiere Visionaries: Tom Ford. The intimate documentary is set to premiere at 10 p.m. ET June 24th on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

If there is one designer who is sexy and secretive all at once, it is definitely Tom Ford. The documentary is said to explore a side of Ford people have never seen before as he reveals his personal and professional stuggles as well as the real-life symbolism behind his film “A Single Man” and his return to the womenswear industy…among other personal tidbits.

We can’t wait for this side of Tom Ford…as much as we find secrets to be sexy there is also a lot of attractiveness in complete honesty…it’s just nice to know that Ford can be both.

According to Time’s official site, the list is comprised of “the most influential people in the world…artists and activists, reformers and researchers, heads of state and captains of industry. Their ideas spark dialogue and dissent and sometimes even revolution.”

In an article from WWD, it was reported that advisers of Bernard Arnault (Dior chairman and LVMH CEO) “have submitted lists of suggested candidates, spanning such marquee names as Tom Ford, Hedi Slimane, Olivier Theyskens, Nicholas Ghesquičre and Alber Elbaz, along with lesser known designers such as Haider Ackermann, Prabal Gurung and Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton.”

There’s so much speculation that it’s almost become a circus with everyone putting their name in the pot or other’s adding names to this growing pile. The list from Arnault’s team is obviously very broad and covers a significant span of talent. So why is Sarah Burton currently on top? That’s due to her her amazing designs for McQueen, but also because she’s one of the designers in line to dress Kate Middleton for her royal wedding. Apparently, Arnault loves the royals and is allegedly intrigued by the idea of re-launching Christian Dior around the couple. So if Burton design’s Kate’s dream dress, she could very well be shoe in for the coveted role.

All of this design talk has turned into a bad game show episode, at least on this show the audience doesn’t decide the results. Only time will tell, but hopefully all the speculation ends soon because this hoopla is really getting ridiculous.
