“Evening is all about sexy sihouettes, open backs, cut-outs with lace insets, and graphic prints infused with cadmium yellow and cobalt blue” Lhuillier said of the collection.

The garments were practically made for the front row, which included Mandy Moore, LeAnn Rimes (with her boo), Emily Current, and Meritt Elliott –all very fit ladies with trendy styles. Although, you (and I) may want to pick up some dumbbells before sliding into her slinky spring clothes. A few pieces which stood out in my mind were black and blue color blocked dresses which were very tight on the body. Before wearing them I think I’d need the gym to turn me black & blue first.

Model Erjona Ala opened the show in a cyan blue strapless corset seamed cocktail dress and I also took note of Nimue Smit and Daiane Conterato on the catwalk. All of the girls walking in the show had ponytail hair done by Odile Gilbert and dark lined eyes thanks to makeup artist Val Garland.

The collection was phenomenal, but too bad it doesn’t come with a gym membership.

Shoji’s dresses were inspired by florals – tulips especially. “So, in the tulip, we have a flower of beauty and grace, of charm, refinement, and distinction. It is a powerful flower and it knows it.” states The Tulip Anthology, which was printed within his show list.

Back to the runway, models came out with floral-esque prints and then a black and yellow striped dress pollenated the crowd before more striped pieces and finally ruffles and lace made their presence known. One shoulder dresses were also a trend within his collection along with the use of silks, taffeta, and lace. Many of the looks were all very “school dance from the nineties” feeling. I don’t want to look like a bumblebee or have one of my shoulders become a room’s focal point. Sorry Tulip Anthology, but those things don’t exactly scream “refinement” and “distinction”.

The only pieces which intrigued me included a sheer lace number along with a long dress which had intricate ruching around the bodess and shoulder.

Overall these department store ready looks were boring (I even heard a lady say that upon exiting). What are your thoughts on the collection?

With autumn approaching faster than we all would like, it’s time to get reacquainted with our good friend denim to see what styles and washes we want to rock this season. Going beyond traditional blue hued jeans, MyFDB recently came across M2F Brand Denims, a colorfully creative line that’s already a hit with celebs and known for their eco-friendly initiatives. Craving a bigger denim fix we went straight to the source, President and Head Designer Terry Siegel for more on the brand.

Your tagline seems to be “The formula for a fashion revolution”, Can you please tell us more about your Made2Fade brand concept?
Our tag line “formula for a global fashion revolution” is about being the first company in the history of fashion to design and produce an endless range of colored jeans that stonewash, fade and abrade like blue jeans, including the white yarns appearing on the outer surface of our jeans as the dyed color chips and fades from the surface. That’s exactly what makes blue jeans so unique. The interplay of fading indigo yarns and white yarns as the indigo fades during stonewashing, sanding, grinding, etc. We are real denim, not the solid dyed jeans you see in the marketplace that look nothing like blue jeans. It’s an insult to blue jeans to even refer to solid colored jeans as real denim.

How do you decide upon which types of washes and colors to produce?

Regarding our washes, I don’t like to use the PP sprays and resins that many of the premium jean companies use because I think they make vintage jeans look fake and are terrible for our environment. Therefore, we finish our jeans with a natural stonewash and hand sand to the mid thigh, knee and seat to create authentically faded jeans that look 10 years old.

The denim market is very saturated, what features set M2F apart from other lines out there?
When buyers see our jeans they know they are looking at something they’ve never seen before. We are not just another blue jean company and we certainly don’t make the solid colored jeans other jean companies

are into right now. When you see our brown, green, red or purple jeans they look exactly like vintage blue jeans as I described earlier. We are the only brand of jeans in the world designing and producing real colored denim because we invented the yarn technology that makes it possible.

Why is being eco-friendly important to M2F and were green initiatives part of building the brand?
 The jean business as a whole is a filthy, vile industry that is horrible for the environment. If consumers actually knew how many chemicals and dirty dye waters were flushed from dyeing and finishing plants they would never buy a pair of blue jeans. At M2F, we are doing our part to make jeans that are friendly to planet earth: Our yarn technology has been certified by the OEKO TEX 100 standard as chemical free. They are the watchdog group in textiles world -wide. I am very proud of our green certification. Furthermore, our chemical free Clear H20 Colors dye process uses 50% less water and energy than traditional textile dyeing procedures while eliminating 100% of the toxic chemicals salt and alkali typically used to dye jeans.

M2F is known in the women’s marketing, you’ve already gotten Nicole Richie, Whitney Port, and Ashley Tisdale in your pants, so what’s next from the company? Any menswear?
We’ve added denim jackets and blazers to our collection for Fall 2011. By Fall of 2012, I fully expect to launch our men’s collection, an amazing range of neutral earth tones in naturally faded washes and finishes.
In addition, we are working on a collection of denim backpack purses, hand bags, fashion purses and cases that will stonewash, fade and abrade like our colored jeans. Lastly, we are developing three new fabrics

Lastly, what denim trends can we expect to see this fall/winter?
A continuation of solid colored jeans we saw this past spring from premium companies….who are now competing in the dyed pant business while we produce real colored denim.

Apparently my drinking habits and fashion have a way of colliding in the form of fall trends; at least that’s what I learned from this morning’s intimate trend preview event hosted by Neiman Marcus.

Bordeaux isn’t just for drinking this season, it’s also going to be a hot hue for autumn as are wine tinted lips (makeup, not actual vino). The retailer presented a few stunning looks which showcased these trends in true Neiman Marcus style…Let’s just say everyone in the room was left drooling over Balmain, Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Chanel, Akris, Giuseppe Zanotti heels and more. It was a true fashion love fest.

Back to the trends, expect to see the following come fall:

• Bordeaux (fall’s hot hue)
• Lady chic (polished & modern)
• Colorblocking (a personal favorite for every season)
• Fur (real or faux, it’s all about luxury)
• Leather (always a go-to)
• Shimmer (live it up with sequins & lame)
• Pumps (take your fashion to new heights)
• Handheld bags (carry it creatively)
• Bold gold (always a classic)

Do you remember playing dress up as a kid and trying on your mom’s clothes and heels even though they were waaay too big for you? Model Anamaria Vartolomei reminds me of those times in this “Over-sized” editorial from Jalouse. Rockin’ pieces which are clearly too big for the petite model, Vartolomei has an innocent look that captures your attention. Her bigger sized outfits are thanks to stylist Marie Gibert; and model actually reminds me of a child trying to look older in this shoot by photographer So Me.

Pink, yellow, blue, green, or plum…where the magical color wheel lands is all up to you, err, rather in this case fashion editor Isabel Dupré. Unlike Tyra Banks, Dupré doesn’t need magic to make an electric shoot come to life. For Marie Claire‘s August issue, the magazine jumps ahead a season by featuring warm looks in exotic colors that are normally reserved for spring/summer.

After seeing this editorial and all of the hot fall ad campaigns, I’m getting excited for autumn fashions!

Style hunting is a very aggressive sport. Yes, I just compared style spotting and trend setting to a sweaty sport and I’m pretty sure it qualifies. There’s the long days of shopping, the carrying of the heavy bags, the quick impulse decisions, the team work when shopping with friends, or the solo street style strut. However you choose to participate, male or female, there’s no denying it’s fierce out there when it comes to hunting good fashion.

Now playing off of famed street and personal style blogs, who have clearly defined their style hunting skills, Vogue British is doing a little trending of their own with this “Style Hunter” editorial shot by photographer, Raymond Meier. You know times are changing when magazines are mirroring blogs. The editorial’s lead page even reads, “The new-season accessories are ammunition for street snappers and bloggers. From fabulous fedoras to brilliant bags, get in the frame.” 

The problem with this shoot isn’t the insanely awesome fashions, it’s the fact that the images feel very posed and don’t come off authentic. I’d rather see the fashions showed off in an elaborate high fashion jungle spread than the street. Clearly with shots of shoes, cutting out people’s faces, they tried a little too hard to relate to the blogosphere aesthetic. Maybe if they wanted more organic shots, they should’ve worked with actual bloggers? Then again, they can always put the photos into Instagram to add an original look…

The latest editorial for Lucky titled “Break Time”…which has now got me craving a break…to buy more clothes…because the outfits put together by Jennifer Hitzges are chic, energizing and just fun! I love all the locations and how great the clothing compliments each surrounding. I mean, how amazing is the teal suit above!? And the heels with the white socks below? Definitely going to have to try these oh-so-chic looks!

The collection includes number of sheer pieces with an influence from the 70′s paired with halter tops and zig-zag patterns that leave little to the imagination coupled wth bright color-blocked sandals.

The Row also took an interesting take on sheer as their pieces were paired with fur and other gaudy embellishments.
