It was recently announced that the designer has been named the official tourism ambassador of Mexico City. And although his descent is that of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, Mexico City saw him fit for the role. According to the official Mexico City government press release, Oscar de la Renta received recognition for his career as “one of the titans of fashion.”

At a press conference, Oscar touched on his career in the United States, deeming that regardless of his nationally, the successes achieved in his life are a product of all Latinos.

Yesterday we told you of (air head) Paris Hilton becoming an journalist thanks to Lil Wayne and Interview…Well, it seems that writing must be the thing to do because the Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga took to Twitter early this morning to make the announcement.

According to Gaga, she will be a fashion & art columnist for the publication. Wonder what she will write about first, perhaps her debut as a model in the Theirry Mugler show? Performer, fashion icon, model and now a journalist…Apparently Gaga wants to do it all, and hey, we’re not stopping her!

Do you know what it means to “retweet” or “follow” someone? If so, then kudos, because you sound like a savvy Twitter aficionado. However, don’t fret if those words sound like a foreign language to you because MyFDB’s new Twylah page will help you understand all of @MyFDB‘s tweets.

The old saying goes third times a charm but apparently the Beckham household is not sticking to that…It was announced yesterday that Victoria and David Beckham are set to expect their fourth child in the Summer! At the age of 36, Victoria is mother to three sons, Brooklyn age 11, Romeo age 8 and Cruz who is 5. On top of being a mother, Victoria has managed to become quite the fashionista while also being the head designer of her very own successful fashion line and fragrance.

According to the Huffington Post, the couple turned to social media to break the news. David headed to Facebook, stating “I’ve got some great news to tell you all, Victoria and I are expecting our fourth child this summer. The boys are very excited about the arrival of a new brother or sister.” While Victoria tweeted, “Thank u so much for your kind and beautiful messages!!!we are all so happy and very excited!!!!!!”

My bet on this one is that it’s a girl…Why of course Miss Posh Spice would love to have a mini version of herself! How adorable would that be!? And think of all the other babies due this year…Rachel Zoe and Natalie Portman…I can only imagine the catwalk fights those lil fashionistas will be having on the playground! Major congrats to the Beckhams!
