Victoria Beckham definitely took a fashion risk for Harper’s Bazaar. The May 2012 China issue features the songstress and fashion designer with ultra bright red locks, yellow eye-makeup, harsh eyebrows, and some seriously statement-making earrings. Adorning her hair are headdress ornaments that compliment the beautiful and powerful Asian aesthetic. It is refreshing to see the former Posh Spice expressing her chameleonic fashion sense for a different audience by being brave enough to stray from her usual look. Beckham is a celebrity that knows exactly what suits her and, for her, a misstep on the red carpet is rare. However, here she is communicating that it is important to experiment with different and creative fashion looks. Sometimes experimentation can be a hit or a miss, this Bazaar cover is absolutely a fierce hit.

In all sadness, it breaks my heart to think that or anyone born after the year 1994 will only know Victoria Beckham as a fashion designer and not Posh Spice and now the mother to be (pregnant with her fourth child, finally a girl!) has followed in the footsteps of designers Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs with the launch of her lower priced line, Victoria by Victoria Beckham. The collection is due for spring 2012 and Beckham attributes knowing the sex of her baby to influencing her design choices.

The looks were also inspired by the dark cartoon character Emily the Strange…wait, what? Was Beckham slightly hormonal when this vision came to mind? Is it just me or does that character and inspiration seem a little…well, off brand? I can’t help but think of weird teenagers coming out of Hot Topic whenever I think of Emily the Strange.

And as for the designs, the more I look at the collection, the more I can’t help but wonder if the pieces were designed for pregnant women? Bright bubbly numbers in simple cuts…that hide the tummy? For the price the pieces are selling at (between $550 and $900), one can only hope the dresses work wonders for women, pregnant or not.

The soccer star doesn’t plan on being overshadowed by his designing wife in the fashion industry anytime soon. Remember when David Beckham (alongside Victoria) stripped down to model for Emporio Armani underwear? Well apparently that experience sparked something inside the athlete because news just broke that he’ll be releasing a “bodywear” line. “I have had the idea of doing a bodywear collection for some time now. The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani,” said Beckham.

Beckham continued to explain, “It’s not my natural inclination to see myself as a brand, I’m just a person who has been fortunate to explore other interests and passions outside of the game I love. I will always be associated with my sport but I am now working across other areas that will continue long after my career has finished.”

The image at the top represents Beckham’s new brand and image; the cutout circle in his name is supposed to stand for a soccer ball. This is the first image to surface from Beckham’s new design ventures and if his ad campaign is going to be anything like this shot, I’m guessing he’s going to try to sell clothes by not wearing any. Not a bad a idea, since he is known for his body and looks; but lets not forget he said “after my career has finished” this implies that he’s on the verge of retirement and we all know good looks and that hot body won’t last forever. My advice to Beckham on his new fashion endeavor? Don’t skimp on quality…just because your name and body are tagged on an item, doesn’t mean it’s going to sell.

Kate Winslet never gets an F on the red carpet, she always finds form fitting and figure flattering attire that’s snug on her curves. The actress, who is newly single and looking to reinvigorate her film career recently posed for Vogue British. A cover shoot and spread in any Vogue isn’t too shabby during your acting downtime.

Within Winslet’s “Solo Act” editorial I was excited to learn the actress’ style secret- which isn’t that surprising at all. She’s quoted saying, “I wear black and white – and black. Colour looks like shit on me. It just does.”

That’s actually a very refreshing statement for me to hear. With bold color, fruit, tribal prints, and stripes coming in for spring/summer, I totally respect (and love) Winslet’s simplistic style.

I was also surprised to learn that none of the dresses she wore in this shoot were from Calvin Klein. With their strong structure and design, that was my first go-to guess. In one shot she’s actually wearing a dress from (and you’d never guess this) Victoria Beckham‘s collection and she also dons a stylish ivory backless Max Mara number.

The old saying goes third times a charm but apparently the Beckham household is not sticking to that…It was announced yesterday that Victoria and David Beckham are set to expect their fourth child in the Summer! At the age of 36, Victoria is mother to three sons, Brooklyn age 11, Romeo age 8 and Cruz who is 5. On top of being a mother, Victoria has managed to become quite the fashionista while also being the head designer of her very own successful fashion line and fragrance.

According to the Huffington Post, the couple turned to social media to break the news. David headed to Facebook, stating “I’ve got some great news to tell you all, Victoria and I are expecting our fourth child this summer. The boys are very excited about the arrival of a new brother or sister.” While Victoria tweeted, “Thank u so much for your kind and beautiful messages!!!we are all so happy and very excited!!!!!!”

My bet on this one is that it’s a girl…Why of course Miss Posh Spice would love to have a mini version of herself! How adorable would that be!? And think of all the other babies due this year…Rachel Zoe and Natalie Portman…I can only imagine the catwalk fights those lil fashionistas will be having on the playground! Major congrats to the Beckhams!
