Grace Coddington continues to lead an extraordinary life as Creative Director for Vogue. Known for her gorgeous and sometimes outlandish photo-shoot ideas, Coddington remains a staple at the iconic magazine. Many of you probably recall her from her from the documentary, The September Issue, where she was a breakout star. After fans got a glimpse of her in the film, we’re sure they’re going to want to get their claws on new her book.

According to WWD, Coddington and former Men’s Vogue editor in chief Jay Fielden are collaborating to write her autobiography. We can’t wait to see how she’ll address growing up in Whales, modeling in the sixities, working as a fashion editor for Vogue British, and eventually making her way to the big apple. Vogue shows us they still got it when it comes to the competitive covers of September issues. Their latest look highlights the stunningly beautiful Halle Berry. The actress looks amazing while showing of a sleek new haircut while being photographed by Mario Testino. On her first interview in three years: “I was burned-out with having other people tell the story about me that they wanted to tell. I told my publicist, ‘I’m not going to talk anymore. I’m just going to live my life and be who I am.’”

On being asked to be on the cover of the September issue of Vogue: “What that means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, ‘No I’m not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.’”

On the “Oscar curse: “Everybody talks about the Oscar curse,” she says. “People win Oscars, and then it seems like they fall off the planet. And that’s partly because a huge expectation walks in the room and sits right down on top of your head. The moment I won the Oscar, I felt the teardown the very next day. I thought, If I’m going down, I’m going down taking chances and daring to risk. Hence…Catwoman.”

On her appreciation of the female body: “I love the naked female form…. I just feel like that’s the most empowered position you can be in.”

“That comes with age,” she says. “I’ve been slowly getting there. If the world wouldn’t persecute me, I’d take nude pictures every day of the week.”

On her relationship and breakup with Gabriel Aubry:

“It’s just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody,” she says. “We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us. We are a family until we are not here anymore.”

“We have always been friends, we’re still friends, we love each other very much, and we both share the love of our lives. And we are both 100 percent committed to being the best parents we can be. And while it was not a love connection for us, he was absolutely the right person to have this child with because she is going to have an amazing father. And that was really important to me. We’ll make sure we always do what is right for her and put her first. And she will see as she grows that we have a lot of love for each other.”

We’re huge fans of Karlie Kloss in the office as is Vogue; the mag used the young supermodel in an incredible blast-from-the-past editorial aptly titled, “Classic Revival” for their August issue. With photography by Raymond Meier and makeup from Lisa Houghton, Kloss makes us want to go back in time when everyone always presented themselves in a chic manner. At the end of July, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Selection Committee will meet with each Finalist to review their current collections and to conduct in-depth interviews. Subsequently, Committee members will make site visits to the design studio of each Finalist. As part of the judging process, this year’s Finalists will be asked to participate in a special design project underwritten by Ann Taylor. We can’t wait to see the outcome!

Actress and Dior maven, Marion Cotillard covers the July issue of Vogue. She sat down with the mag to talk about her passions including acting, music, and her true bohemian spirit. The editorial that accompanies the article reflects this artistic theme as Cotillard poses with a vintage camera for photographer Mario Testino.

Marion Cotillard on playing in the Expressionist-Surrealist band Yodelice fronted by composer Mazim Nucci: “I play the bass guitar, keyboard, and tambourine—I’m their one-woman band and all-purpose maid,” Cotillard explains. She’s taken to appearing with Yodelice on tour, dressed as a man, under “Simone,” the name of her maternal grandmother. “It’s pretty refreshing to be in a situation where the spotlight is on someone else.”

On her Oscar winning portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose: When the film was over, she couldn’t shake Piaf. Her hairline and her eyebrows were still shaved. She fled with Canet to Peru and the Amazon; she went to Bora Bora with her best friend, Geraldine. “It was there that I found myself articulating why Piaf was still living inside me. She had been abandoned as a child; her greatest fear was to be alone. Now I didn’t want to abandon her. I finally was able to say, ‘She’s been dead for 40 years; it’s OK.’”

The statuesque model is fierce in front of the camera, but a normal (as normal as you can be, when you’re an international supermodel) high school girl.
