Sue Wong’s Glamorous Gowns!
The team at MyFDB got the opportunity to attend the Sue Wong Fashion Presentation on Friday. The Spring 2011 preview was titled “Glamour Goddesses” as the collection paid tribute to the iconic glamour goddesses of the silver screen. The presentation which took place at Sue Wong’s Atelier was nothing short of chic as guests dressed up in only their best.
Models were made up to the fullest in Napoleon Perdis makeup and vintage hair styles. Shortly after the red carpet arrivals, the presentation began. In true Sue Wong style, this was not your average “presentation” where models stood still in pieces from the designer’s collection. Instead, each model stood on a box amongst the crowd for a few minutes and then walked around each room of the studio. This was a creative and great take on a presentation because every guest in attendance was able to admire each gown and it’s intricate detailing up close.
The gowns which ranged in colors from black to creme, were decorated with jewels, crystals, and feathers. From short and strapless to long and fully beaded, there was a style for everyone. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails were offered while swanky Parisian music played and the lights sparkled dimly. Guests ranging in ages as young as ten to seventy attended as camera bulbs flashed. We left the presentation feeling a little more glamorous and vying for a little more sparkle in our everyday lives!
