Teen Vogue & The Clinique Fresh Faces Tour Hit LA

Nov 9, 2010 By Amy

Yesterday the MyFDB team headed over to the Clinique Fresh Faces Tour sponsored by Teen Vogue at USC. This second annual event travels the country making stops at schools and major cities to provide young women the opportunity to not only get made over, but also meet industry leaders in the beauty, fashion, and publishing realms. Each location hosts a panel discussion with these movers and shakers where attendees can ask career questions while receiving professional advice from the pros. The panelists for the USC event we attended included Eva Chen (Beauty & Health Director of Teen Vogue), Caroline Cagney (freelance writer and stylist), Laura Schreffler (freelance reporter), Melissa Magsaysay (Style Writer and Editor for the Los Angeles Times), and Jeannie Lee (Satine Boutique owner). At the close of the nationwide tour, one young woman will be selected as the next Clinqiue Fresh Face and receive an summer internship with Clinique plus a one-week, behind-the-scenes experience at Teen

Vogue in New York.

Along with career empowerment, girls were also treated to an A-list beauty experience complete with a photoshoot. I was lucky enough to be able to take part in this unique opportunity and get makeup tips from Clinique makeup artist, Cheryl Lynn Bowers. Visitors to the Clinique mobile makeup stations were given the option of choosing a natural or dramatic look – I opted for dramatic. From deciphering my skin type to showing me which colors properly suite my tone, Cheryl filled me on how to create an eye-shot look. I appreciated how thorough she was while addressing each of my skin care needs. At the end of each makeup session girls can also get their hair done and then have a quick photo snapped of their transformation.

This year’s event was as hit and we can’t wait to see who will be on next year’s panel. If you couldn’t make it to any of the national events, no worries because we’ll have an exclusive interview with Eva Chen coming soon. For more info on the Clinique Fresh Faces tour visit their official site.
