A Guilty Pleasure Chick Flick In The Form Of A Fashion Blog

Jan 28, 2011 By Mckenzie

With an über feminine personal style and a shabby chic photography aesthetic, fashion blogger Alix Bancourt has been a favorite of mine for some time now. Her blog, The Cherry Blossom Girl features personal style photos, travel photo diaries, runway coverage and amazing inspiration posts. Bancourt is based in Paris, France (she is oh so lucky), which explains why her style is so effortlessly cool and put together. This Parisian home base also allows for Bancourt’s blog to appeal to a much larger audience, especially since every post is written in both French and English. Plus, us United States inhabitants to brush up on the most romantic language in existence. And as mentioned before, her photos all have a vintage-like feel, just like looking through rose-colored lenses. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the world is so much better when looking through rose-colored lenses.

Whether Bancourt is photographing herself, clothing, beauty products or sweet treats, everything looks so delicate and girly. Looking through her blog is like continually watching those guilty pleasure chick flicks that some women love and some women won’t admit to loving. Perhaps Bancourt needs to begin shooting fashion editorials and lookbooks and whatnot. Don’t you agree? In my opinion, Bancourt and The Cherry Blossom Girl stands out amongst a sea of fashion bloggers and I cannot wait to see more from her!
