Okay, so I am still trying to get over the fabulousness of some of my favorite ladies from last night’s Golden Globes (Hellooo Claire Danes and Anne Hathaway), but as always with the good comes the…bad, hideous, what-were-they thinking dresses. So, alas I present to you my LEAST favorite of the night (in no particular order)…
Oh, Natalie Portman, although I loved you and your performance and winning speech for “Black Swan”, I can’t help but yawn over your dress. Valentines Day isn’t just yet honey, but your empire-wasted Vicktor & Rolf dress begs to differ. The color washes you out and the rose detail along with the matching clutch (so 1990′s) reminds me of something the singer Selena would have worn. Where is your glow Natalie!? You are preggers! But alas, instead you remind me of a lame bridesmaid. I just had so much more hope for you…you were the Black Swan for goodness sake!!
“Blue Valentine” was by far one of my favorire movies out this year, but Michelle Williams dress literally me feel blue. She reminded me of Suri Cruise only blonde and about 25 years older…daisies on a floor length gown?! The nude color of the Valentino gown also washed Williams out while tooottally reminding me of the Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance ad campaign. Considering Williams is always dressed so cute, I am sad she made such a booooring choice for such a big night!
Oh, Jenny from the block…your Zuhair Murad frock was just wrong on so many divalicious levels…White!? You too looked like you were headed to a wedding with Natalie…perhaps, you were the bride?! And I totally didn’t get the whole shawl-like top part of the dress, why was it there!? And on top of all this, your choice to match your eye-makeup to the gown made you look more tired and alien like…where was your Latin flair and color!? Perhaps your honey Marc Anthony wore it? I can only hope.
There is no doubt that Halle Berry is beyond beautiful for her age! And although I love the sexiness of her Valentino dress, I thought it was an ill choice for the event. If she was gonna rock a short dress she should have, sans the weird train. My guess is that Halle and her stylist were stuck in the middle about the choice…the outcome? A sexy dress (love the flattering bustier cut in the front) which sadly, only got more lame as it progressed to the floor…
So what do you think about the red-carpet snores? Were they hits or misses!?
